Domestos Sink and Pipe Unblocker now 50p at Tesco.

Found 31st May 2011
Domestos Sink and Pipe Unblocker was £4.01 now only £0.50 in my local Tesco Metro.

I bought the last 4 in my local store this morning, as I normally pay £3 something for these.

Cheapest I've seen them by miles!

Can anyone else confirm this please? I'll be going this evening so I can't till then!

...what on earth are you putting down your pipes to warrant such seemingly regular purchases of this stuff???!!!

Bought them all? What you planning on putting down your sink! oO

Do you know if this was store specific or is it nationwide? This is great stuff for cleaning your pipes out!

ah, just read Tesco Metro... it will be clear out at that store only

I have a dodgy shower tray that seems to partially block every other month or so and takes ages to drain - this stuff always does the job and it'll last me the rest of the year.

I normally hate Tescos deals as they're usually never on at my local store (Leamington Spa) so I guess one finally came good for me

buy a plunger and reuse, also a lot more enviromentally friendly than all those chemicals!

Try and see if a part of the insides of the plug lifts as I had the exact same problem until I lifted apart the inside of the plug and found a dirty great build up of hair/soap/shampoo. Now all I need to do is lift said part every month, remove any unwanted build-up and pop the plug back. Hey presto and the plug never blocks so no need for chemicals.

This type of thing might help you,you can get them a lot cheaper though than this, the postage is expensive.
I use a chrome one in the bath.

If you have quite a shallow run off then they tend to get blocked a lot. I have two showers and one blocks a lot and the other doesn't.as it has a deeper run off.

I used to use a fair bit of this stuff but I have now bought a super plunger thingy.... http://www.wickes.co.uk/drain-blaster/invt/500065/

It is very good and has an attachment to clear the loo as well as sinks. You would save a lot in the long run.

I am a tenant of Birmingham City Council and my loo is CONSTANTLY blocked, 5 times I have called them out in the last couple of months and all they do is send a man with a mop to plunge it, its disgusting, messy, and doesnt bloomin work! I have spent a fortune on lotions and potions, a bendy wire to put down the u-bend, a can of some sort of pressurised gas, none of it works for more than a couple of days :-( I keep telling the council that it must be a blockage further down the waste pipe (i live on the 13th floor so it could be anywhere!!) but they just send another man with another mop - useless!!
Is this contraption reusable, or like the pressurised gas, does it only work for one or two shots?

Use caustic soda its a fraction of this price and it clears ANYTHING!

Agree, we use this too. But remember to put on the marigolds or you'll end up with skinless fingers!

I recently used it to help remove a tree stump, drilled a few holes, poured this stuff down, and a week later the stump was rotted. Excellent stuff,

Pouring 50p away is still 50p down the drain. Buy a hand auger (drain snake) and fix the blockage properly. This stuff is a sticking plaster for something that normally requires surgery.

Costs £1.28 but POSTAGE is £6.89!!! Prefer to get them in the numerous £1 stores!
Good tip though, thanks!

Definitely use caustic soda, this stuff is rubbish. This is a good price so I have not voted cold!

cheaper than soda crystals! HOTT!

Had 2 kebabs (1 on way out and 1 on way home) and 9 pints of Stella on Sunday night. Monday morning toilet blocked solid. Left it for the missus to sort.

Bicarb and vinegar works just as good.

Having watched Superscrimpers a spectacularly good tip was to put broken egg shells down your plug holes as the sharp edges would grab hold of all the muck and clear the blockage.

Haven't tried it, but if you are making egg butties there's always a use for the left over shells!

Im sure it will be in some supermarkets otherwise try DIY shops, B and Q etc I have a stax trade account and available there for around 90p for 1KG pack, Do note as mentioned use gloves and suitable footwear as its lethal on skin.
Good to hear its used elsewhere, I used this to treat a never ending fight with roots and laid root control fabric over the top and laid some yorkshire stone as a walkway the roots have never returned!

Does appear to be available in quite a few places, ebay and even boots!
