Camping cooler (absorption type) that's powered from the mains, car charger or gas and cools 25 degrees below ambient. Most coolers only do 18 below ambient - not much good in the 30 degree summer days we have here in the UK!

Nearest I could find was £200 in Halford's for something similar. 3-4 week wait from Amazon, but it'll take longer than that for the summer to arrive...

shows at 199.99 when I click on Get Deal. still seems a good price though as the Waeco ones are very expensive

for 199 its not from amazon you gotta look at the other sellers on the right and select amazon to get the lower price because it is on back order.

You need to choose Amazon as the seller to get this price.
Great, thank you for setting me on the right track.
I own this fridge and can confirm it works really well especially on gas.
A word of warning though it's big and heavy so if you do what we do and switch it on and fill it up the day before in your kitchen to really cool everything down you'll need two people to lift it into the car.
On 12v if your car engine is not running it will kill the battery in about 2 hours so if your cigarette lighter socket stays powered on after you switch the engine off make sure you unplug it.

Waeco actually own Dometic or maybe the other way round.
The very expensive Waeco fridges you're thinking of work like proper fridges with a 12v compressor inside using very little power, I wish I could have one of them but the cost does not justify the amount of use it would get during summer.
I assume it can be plugged in if your camper van has an electric hook up.

Correct, It's 3 way and will run on 230/240v mains, Propane or Butane gas (calor etc) or 12v car battery when your engine is running.

If have the Dometic 3 way fridge, works very well. This is an excellent price.
Thanks OP and commenters, have ordered, hope it comes in time to get decent use out of it this summer!
If anyone was put off this because of the whole waiting for stock thing, I just got an email from Amazon to say that rather than 4-6 weeks, I can expect delivery next week. Sweet!
Thanks op, good deal, voted hot
Ordered 10 mins ago and its coming on Sunday
Mine arrived today, so not too bad a wait really!

Not had the chance to plug it in yet though...
Yes, mine arrived this morning. Well happy, I've wanted one of these for ages... I wasn't sure about the size (whether there would be enough room in it) but now it's here it's plenty spacious, and not really too heavy (when empty) either... will just take the tip above about packing it with stuff in bags so it's easy to unload before putting into the car. What a bargain, thanks OP!

For those needing a regulator ebay seems to have some slightly cheaper options than Amazon. It depends on which gas bottle you're going to use of course - I happen to have a spare Campingaz 907 which is handy, ebay has regulators for that at about £8.50, with a 2m hose and jubilee clips - good value!
