If you rock up to GAME or GameStatation this Friday with bananas – real bananas – the shop assistant will exchange them for a copy of Wii exclusive platformer Donkey Kong Country Returns.

You'll need to be quick, though – only the first 20 gamers who present a bunch of bananas at GAME stores in Oxford Street, London and Merry Hill Dudley, or GameStation at Prospect Centre, Hull, from 8 am on Friday morning, will get the £44.99 game for, well, the price of a bunch of bananas.

i know it's quite limited but it is a deal either way so hope it helps somone

Ah, the old very limited offer to get everyone in the shop ploy. Never fails.

It could be you.......

Shame this isn't nationwide

so close to work, might give it a shot

I think it would be funnier if it wasnt true and they had no idea about it and loads of people just turned up with bananas.

Now I know why people were walking around taunton the other week with banana's!

GAME and Nintendo team up for novelty special offer in three stores this Friday

Or £34.99 at GAME.co.uk.
Or even £29.99 at Amazon.co.uk, or the same price at HMV.com.

If this offer is to encourage customers (with, or without, bananas) into the (very selective) high street stores either due to the current weather conditions or for general footfall reasons it may be an idea to sell the game at a lower price so that the public have a greater incentive to buy it in person rather than going home & saving at least £10 by an online sale.

BFN,

fp.

[EDIT]: Now £32.91 at Amazon.co.uk; SendIt.com have it for 32.89 [EDIT]

Being one banana short... is that a euphemism for something?

Just take a bunch (of an unspecified number of individual fruit):

I hope with the next BioShock I get to trade in my little sister

Would have thought one of them was London, after all, London is the centre of the world and nothing else goes on outside the M25

Also take the staff some peanuts

They should let you trade it for a couple of cans of deodorant. Stinking cess-pit that is the Game store.

Might just head to Oxford Street earlier but some dudes might already be waiting in line from 7am onwards to bag a free game.

DUDLEY?? like anybody has seen fruit in dudley

Merry Hill isn't in Dudley though, it's an indoor shopping centre near Dudley, plenty of fruit in the Asda based there.

There are 3 Game stores in Merry Hill, one inside Debenhams, another lower floor near Boots and a further one near the Disney Store, not sure which one is doing this promo.

I wonder what they are going to do with all the bananas?

Would love it if they gave them to their employees as a Christmas bonus

Awesome idea but opening time on Friday? Way to go to exclude people who work for a living.

I think you find it is in Dudley, just not in the centre of Dudley.

I think you will also find I already stated it's an INDOOR SHOPPING CENTRE NEAR DUDLEY, as in near Dudley Town Centre not actually in it, it is a Dudley postcode, but there again so is Kidderminster, Stourbridge and those towns are not *near* Dudley, as towns go Merry Hill is actually close to Brierley Hill not Dudley....I should know I am from the Black Country.

So no its not in Dudley, just in Dudley Metropolitan Borough.

would be great if somone went there and ended up eating the bananas before it opened by accident haha

You are better of going to Game and chucking a banana at the staff, so for once they have a clue lol.
