a 3 year old game that 90% of switch owners never got chance to play because the WiiU tanked
Well they've waited this long so I'm sure they contain themselves from dropping 40 quid at launch

Well said, 100% agree. I rate the game and really like it. But bought on Wii U, buying the same game once is enough for me. This should actually be a Switch Selects game, with a Selects price tag.

Do the XB/PS consoles get this with the popular recurring franchises? Nintendo should be embarrassed, they deserve all the criticism they are getting with these updates/rereleases/deluxes.

Every console has a ton of ports in its first couple of years. PS4 and XB1 are still getting loads of remasters now. They're cheaper, quicker and easier to make than new games.
Ridiculous price,should be £25 max

But they also sell them for less. Microsoft bundled the entire Halo series remastered for the price of one game and Sony remasters have a £30 RRP.

This is classic Nintendo fleecing, no matter how you try to spin it.

There was a lot of this when the XB1/PS4 came out. Albeit usually at slightly reduced prices. However, their targeted audience were people who wanted it at higher resolution/frame rate etc and would buy the same game again. Nintendo's intended audience as someone said earlier, are those who didn't buy a Wii U or ever play this game. I know I'd sold mine before this even got released.

That being said I'll probably wait 12 months and buy this in an amazing Nintendo sale for £37

I paid £18 for Shadow of the Colossus on day 1 release on my PS4 Pro. It is incredible. Supposed to be the best re-rerelease of any game ever made. £40 is a kick in the nuts. £20 is more than enough for this.

Have to vote tropical freezing cold for this deal.

£40 for a port of a 4 year old game?

Cold.
Don’t get those voting cold

Your voting cold because of what Nintendo are charging for the game and because it’s a port from the Wii U

And not voting cold because it’s cheaper elsewhere

HUKD’ers are a weird bunch!
Does nobody know that £40 is never a good price for any game?
Wow recently sold this game along with Mario maker and mario 3d land for Wii u for less than this on ebay

The PS4's target was people who had jumped platforms from the 360. That's why the Naughty Dog games were re-released very early on. They knew they'd sell beause a large part of the PS4 user base had never played them before.
Love Nintendo for the quality of their games and dedication to actually creating fun experiences however charging full price for a port just doesn't feel right.

£40 has been the going price for games since the 80s. I remember paying £40 for Killer Instinct on the SNES. £40 is a fair price when the game is worth it. But £40 for Tropical Freeze is over the top for a port of an old game made for a relatively failed system. The thing with Nintendo is that they never have decent sales and they rarely drop the prices of their own games. Wii U games such as Super Mario 3D World stayed at full price until the console's death. Other consoles drop the prices of their games after a while and have good sales digitally and in store. Nintendo are just greedy because they think people will just buy their games for the name. I have just played the demo for Kirby Star Allies and it is fun. But it is £49.99 on the eshop. It isn't worth that. Why and how is it £49.99 on the eshop and £39.99 physically. It's crazy. That is a game definitely not worth £40 to me. But to others it might be. Depends on how much you enjoy it. Sorry or the rant.

Don't sweat it, it was interesting to read. I do agree with what you said; some games really are worth the full price, but yeah Nintendo are a little stingy when it comes to pricing, even pretty old games that'll rarely be purchased. It bugs me that I can buy something like the Witcher 3 GOTY for £12, or even Portal 2 for 99p on Steam, meanwhile on the eShop, there's Snipperclips for £20! And yet Nintendo get away with it, because we're all mugs for Nintendo.

I would change my first comment though; only a small handful of games (in my opinion) are worth around £40, and DK Tropical Freeze- as good as it is- is not worth the buck.
