DON'T ignore the request to fill out a survey on PARENTPAY

Found 16th Nov 2016
So logged onto parentpay to pay for a school trip and at the end I was asked if I could fill out a quick survey about Christmas spending on childrens presents and I'll get a £10 credit to my account. The survey took less than a minute and MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN CREDITED WITH A TENNER!!! Normally I ignore these things so I'm pretty pleased I didn't. So, log on to Parentpay and see if you're asked.

I don't pay for school trips no more unless they are fun day outs.if educational and I'm ask to pay I refuse and tell school if it's for a project and educational purposes then the school should fund it not me.and if they argue I point out to them that if my kids don't go on the trip it is like having a days missed education and it's not on just like they tell . me if my kids are off school sick.

Will give this a go. Got a school trip to pay for. Heat added.

thanks op. DD's school uses parent pay so will check out later.

Let's hope your kids are more educated than you.

Thanks for pointing that out, I saw this yesterday and ignored it, I am happy to pay for educational trips!!!

Shocking English. Have you considered going back to school yourself?

Phew, it took a short while to untangle that one. I suppose that you are happy for other strapped parents to fork out extra.

My account says for a chance to win £10, I've done it and can't see any credit. It only took a minute so no real hardship though.

I logged out, then logged back in after a couple of hours to add items to my basket. When i clicked to checkout my credit appeared.

presumably you don't pay for school meals either?

I was offered a chance for credit onto a NIMBL card?

Mine just says "chance to win" too. After filling out survey then had to give detail for chance to win one of 10 £10 prizes, which come as credit in some prepaid MasterCard thing aimed at kids.

I wonder if that's just school / account specific. I logged on earlier this week but nothing

Most schools actually have money reserved for those who can't afford it.

My school cancelled a trip to the London Science Museum last week for my kids because they didn't have enough parents pay. This was for year 1 kids, and my child was really looking forward to it, so now looking at taking him there myself.

Just so sad when these same people are happy to pay £500+ for a top of the line 50inch TV and all the extras to make them feel like they are living in luxury, but don't want to pay £15 for their own child's education! We don't have much money, but I am prepared to do anything for my kids, especially if it's educational.

As a school governor and a member of the finance committee, I am well aware of the budget juggling that takes place. Schools do not have bottomless pockets. Far from it! It is about time that parents realise that the education of their children is their responsibility. Schools are there to then provide that education to the best of their ability and within their tight financial constraints.
Is it the responsibility of an MOT station to ensure that your MOT is up to date? No - it is your responsibility to take your car (and pay for it).
Why should the vast majority of parents suffer because a handful of parents prefer to spend their money elsewhere? I know through experience that there is a very, very small minority who genuinely cannot afford to pay (and they are catered for within our tight budget projections). We would certainly take a very dim view of parents who refuse to contribute towards educational trips but are more than happy to pay for "fun day outs".

Crap prepaid credit card for kids 8-18 don't waste your time. Why the hell would parentpay endorse crap on their page.

nothing yet paid in x 2 this week !
