DONT MISS OUT - Tesco Clubcard to Avios Conversion 1000 point Bonus

Posted 15th Nov 2018
Just a reminder - hope it helps someone.

Did you know that if you use your Clubcard points before 15 November, we’ll give you a bonus 1,000 Avios reward? That’s an extra boost for your Avios balance to put towards your next holiday.

All you need to do is shop at Tesco and turn at least £5.00 worth of Clubcard points into Avios. Remember, you’ll also collect 600 Avios for every £2.50 worth of Clubcard points you use.

thanks for the info @J4Y_B
It doesn't say this anywhere on the clubcard site. Will probably take the chance and convert.

Don't know if it matters but Avios is closing shortly to be replaced by British Airways Executive Club

Think this has already happened. The Avios points should have automatically transferred so no one should have lost out.
Yes mine got transferred this week.

I had it in an email over a month ago and been a member for years so no it isn't just new customers.
Just a reminder to everyone that has Avios points that if you don't earn, spend or transfer any points for a period of 3 years then the rules say that you will lose them all, so if you're getting near the 3 year limit then now would be as good a time as any to convert £5 worth of Clubcard points to Avios and get the bonus.

I think it may be account specific also but I’ll give it a try anyway - thanks
Thanks, I wasn't aware of this and I usually convert mine to Avios points anyway. Heat from me
You should have got an email about this if you have either a BA exec club account or Avios account.

OH got offered the 1000 bonus but i got offerred 20% on conversion.

I actually got a tad more than 1000. All good as they all go to same household account

It says " if you use your Clubcard points before 15 November"..
i've got thounsands of avios i doubt i'll ever use, about 30,000 not sure what i can get for that
Does not make any sense to collect these anymore as BA is same quality now as ryanair.

I originally thought the same, but it's wrong. Avios travel programme / website will remain, with Avios as the currency. The only difference is that you'll earn and spend Avios from airline frequent flyer accounts (BA Exec Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub etc), instead of previously being able to hold an account with avios.com. The website will still function as before (search and book redemptions etc), but your account will be your airline frequent flyer ones.

There is expected to be a devaluation of Avios in the next year or so, so probably best not to transfer huge amounts of Amex MR or Clubcard points unless you know you're going to use them soon.

Where did you hear about the devaluation seems a bit unfair as we earned the miles prior to devaluation
Cancelled my avios. Better to use your tesco points elsewhere. Murder getting flights you want.

It's been talked about for a while on frequent flyer programme blogs / forums, since a BA presentation to institutional investors detailed "Progressive introduction of Dynamic Pricing from 2018" for Avios, and the US carriers effectively devalued through switching to it.

There's no official information on when, or even if, it will happen, but you're always only a few years away from a devaluation when collecting frequent flyer points (2011 and 2015 were last Avios devaluations).

Patience!
From the T&C's;
"Bonus Avios will be credited to the Eligible Participant’s BAEC account within 28 days of the campaign ending"

Thanks ayeworld - I think I will sue them just to be a pain in the ass if I have enough points eg London Paris in 2018 I should have the same value in post devaluation

Anyone received their bonus points yet?

No, not yet, but last time I did this it took over 3 weeks for the bonus points to appear.
Anyone got the extra points yet?
Received mine. Nice one OP. Cheers
