how can you install fresh ROM pls

have anybody actually got it in his hand or is it still pre-sale??

Still waiting for mine from BangGood.

I agree that you can get a lot of spec for a fraction of the cost with these Chinese devices. Two points though. Gearbest currently have a terrible approach of advertising goods they don't physically have in stock and keep making excuses as to why the goods remain as processing on your account. Hopefully the EU warehouse might be slightly better. Lastly, how can you change the ROM? Not sure as yet whether there is custom ROMs out there supporting this device.

Looks good.

Sounds to me people are ordering things that don't even exist yet, like they say a fool and their money.

I've experienced delays only on pre-order items from Gearbest.

Ordering from their UK warehouse meant next day, free delivery. Insane given the small premium (~3%) they were charging from the EU.

Thanks for your experience of the retailer. Ok so at the moment there are no ROMs out and I'll change that piece of advice. Here's hoping there will be though

The site says these ship after Oct 15, but not how long after: a day, a month .... So yes, its pretty much guaranteed that no actual users have ever seen one. Or that the production units have been adequately reviewed.

Personally, while these phones appear on paper to be pretty good, I'm not going to risk this being a turkey. I might get one in a few months provided they meet expectations, but I can't see any reason to be thrusting money into the hands of the sellers for a completely untried device.

If it's popular enough they'll be roms on XDA. But as it's only just out it's too soon to know if the dev's will pick it up.

Still waiting for mine i've give them 2 more weeks or i'll want a refund...

last time I purchased one of these Chinese handsets the battery was advertised as 3000 but it was in fact 1800. the packaging had spelling mistakes. just be careful and stick to the main brands

Ordered from here with free delivery from china warehouse, took 7 days to arrive.

Cheapest octa-core is ~£40, wondering if its worth it (currently have a non working blackberry as my mobile )

Yep, fully agree. Best wait for some verified user reviews. Don't want to end up like one of those first Elephone P8000 customers who were informed by the company that the fancy notification LED ('breathing light' in Chinglish) was never installed because the company had to scramble to meet the release date on the first batch of 5000 units..nice!!

The poor sods however did receive a discount off their next amazing phone, the Vowney!!!

Agreed, been waiting a month for a tablet ordered from them that was 'in stock' when I ordered. I don't know anything about this phone but would personally only go for a Chinese phone with support over at xda.

Edit. just seen the tagline of this phone "I am who I am" - popeye the sailor man

Specs on these phones don't translate to real world performance. I have had a few Chinese phones and they are what they are, a cheap phone.

They claim to have fast processors and loads of ram but they will be laggy and bug ridden.

As others are saying, all is not what it seems with the specifications of these phones.

Also, keep in mind, you are most likely stuck with the version of Android installed at the time of purchase.

There are lots of reviews online. I have had mine over a year with NO problems. When I need to upgrade I will be buying another chinese one.

positives
can get a lot of phone for your money
negative
the warranties can be a bit sketchy if you buy from a chinese seller you normally have to send it back at your cost
of course you may have no problems and not need the warranty

Both true, but you still get a hell of a lot of phone for the money. The main reason they don't quite perform up to the specs is that they don't optimise Android on it - paying software developers is expensive. The hardware spec is accurate though.

I replaced an LG G3 with an Elephone P7000. A few minor niggles, but I wouldn't pay the £100 extra the G3 cost to fix them.

Dodgy?.

I think the clues are there

try Aliexpress app for protected delivery and contact via the app to the sellers.

the brand name almost says "dodgy" - caveat emptor ;-)

Excellent specs apart from apparently the battery once again

Got the P7000 too, excellent phone. Less laggy than my Note 4. Not paying for a 'brand' again.

I wish they would sell these in UK and have UK warranty service as I think they would do really well. I would def buy with UK protection as you get so much phone for your money and it could maybe force manufacturers here to lower prices with competition like this.

I'm guessing Gearbest has a decent affiliate programme.
Tried to post a good deal for Dealsmachine the other day, and got this...
Sorry your deal has been removed as the merchant is not a site approved non UK based merchant. Therefore, they are not eligible to have their offerings posted.
Please do not repost the deal or for the merchant.'

Anybody know where the approved list can be found? Where do we stand with DX and Focalprice?

Talking about spelling mistakes on the phone box - what about this little beauty from Gearbest...

Either I have been really lucky, or people worry about warranty way too much.

I've had mobile phones ever since they came out. Never had to return a single one. I don't treat mine very well either.

The only Chinese phone manufacturer with a European service centre is Siswoo, which is based in Spain.

Gearbest has only recently been approved; I was told off on here (with almost the same response) about 6-8 weeks ago when I tried to post the K3 Note from the UK warehouse.

Avoid Gearbest as I ordered someonething which was supposed to be shipped on 1st October but they haven't dispatched yet. Moreover, they aren't replying to my email regarding refund.

Me neither Dean, I'm probably just too cautious!

I've had lots things go missing from UK companies and very poor support, I've bought lots of goods from international ones, The only time I had an issue was with bang good, and they resent the item. I cant see anyone saying they were never offered a replacement or refund. some of you people are just scare mongers that have no idea what you are talking about.

About the presale status of the Doogee F5: I've one on presale order from Bang good, they are suggesting a stock date delay from 15th Oct to Friday 23rd Oct, The website says restock, but they havn't had any stock yet, but I've noticed that PompMail have suggested 3-4 weeks which wont be til November. pompmall.com/doo…tml .
