Wondering if it's even worth waiting for a Steam deal
Wonder if they'll do any free games like epic and gog. They have some great old games.

Well, since its coming out now, I doubt you'll get a decent deal on Steam until Steam has one of its major Sales

Oh, sorry, I think you misunderstood. Since the post was CDKeys, I meant a deal on CD Keys but for the Steam Launcher, not the Bethesda Launcher.

No if they're selling Bethesda keys now it means they won't be getting steam keys. Judging by every other game on there that comes with non steam keys.
Be a fiver by Christmas

Damn. I really appreciate you saying this, completely forgot they had a Bethesda launcher as well. Almost blindly bought this. Cheers

Don't know why people get so upset about launchers. If you want to play a game - buy it, install launcher, install game, play it.
Even if you buy it on Steam, you'll still need a Bethesda.Net account to play - likely it'll work like Ubi games, where starting it via Steam just boots up the Bethesda.net launcher and runs the game. The only advantage is Steam achievements and cloud saves (as I hear they aren't available on Bethesda.net?). I just checked the Doom Eternal Steam page - there's no cloud saves or achievements listed. So Steam will literally just be a second front-end to go through, unless they add those in closer to/at launch.

Edit: probably worth pointing out also that if you buy on Steam, you'll be locked to Steam prices for DLC - you won't find Steam keys for the Season Pass etc anywhere else (again, if they follow the Ubisoft model of doing things).

Because the entire appeal of launchers is to keep all your games in one library and automatically up to date.
Now I have 10 launchers running at startup.
10 launchers to keep up to date.
10 launchers which I have to open to pause updates when my internet suddenly slows to a crawl.
10 launchers with 10 friends lists to sign in and out of.
10 launchers to switch between to find the game I want to play, install or uninstall.
10 launchers of which HALF have consistent connection issues preventing me from updating or playing the games.
10 launchers with separate logins, passwords and 2FAs,
10 launchers running simultaneously in the background.
10 launchers showing me advertising, selling my data, monitoring my use, holding my credit card details and getting hacked.

Think I'm gonna bite anyway just because I want to get involved and it is a significant price drop, by the time I replay it hopefully 3rd parties will be peddling steam keys for pennies like 2016
