Developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Expand your gameplay experience using DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.

A Relentless Campaign

There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement, and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.

Return of id Multiplayer

Dominate your opponents in DOOM’s signature, fast-paced arena-style combat. In both classic and all-new game modes, annihilate your enemies utilizing your personal blend of skill, powerful weapons, vertical movement, and unique power-ups that allow you to play as a demon.

Endless Possibilities

DOOM SnapMap – a powerful, but easy-to-use game and level editor – allows for limitless gameplay experiences on every platform. Without any previous experience or special expertise, any player can quickly and easily snap together and visually customize maps, add pre-defined or completely custom gameplay, and even edit game logic to create new modes. Instantly play your creation, share it with a friend, or make it available to players around the world – all in-game with the push of a button.

Same but this is one of the very few titles I have actually finished and now on my second run through.

It's a great pickup and play game.

What did you play that was better than this game that took your time instead? I played this alongside Zelda BOTW and it certainly stood up/was a nice contrast, even against what is considered to be one of the best games ever made.

Great game, multiplayer is really good now
^^^Euro Truck Sim 2 on the Oculus ruft, 42 hours and counting, yes i know you are thinking, how can delivering a container filled with broken glass from Glasgow right across to Sweden be any fun, or taking some livestock all the way down to Italy, and i can't really answer that, it just is, and in VR it is just another level of immersion that tips this game into another realm of gaming,
Runs incredible and looks epic in 4k, deffo worth this price. Might boot it up tonight and have a blast.

I did the exact same thing earlier today after downloading it overnight (60+GB...) and I'll tell you it does actually seem like a great game. Most first person shooters feel super monotonous but DOOM has great atmosphere, very quick and responsible controls, it's visceral and just feels good to play. I had just forced myself through a mission on COD Infinite Warfare and it definitely felt a lot better. Also, after the first mission I tried to give multiplayer a go but evidently it's dead.

Like the guy above I just have way too many games... And I haven't found any FPS that's nearly as fun to play as Overwatch. I'll probably play a mission or two occasionally among other things. FWIW, games that are higher on the priority list for me include Nier: Automata, Yakuza 0, Persona 5, AC:O plus I have a few VR games I haven't played much of yet. Recently finished off Horizon ZD's expansion and FFXV's DLC with a dozen or so missions left on Witcher 3's last expansion.

Honestly the list of recent stuff I've yet to play is stupid. Trying to keep up with all the good games is almost like hard work haha
