Found 4th Jan 2016
The Plaza in Dorchester only costs £2.50 for any film, Monday to Friday, and £3.50 for any film on Saturdays and Sundays.

It has 4 screens, two of which support 3D, and you can buy booze in the lobby and bring it in to drink during the film.

Great find!
I wish manchester had something like this price
If the same people running it now who uses to run it, they are a wonderful family! Lovely to see its still going strong.
feel free to laugh at me
but I thought this was a cinema in the Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane
amazing little place,
I thought I'd got a good deal at Rex elland, near Halifax West Yorkshire £4 for Star Wars

Voted hot..
Love this cinema. We travel there from 20 miles away as it is still cheaper to go there (and a nicer experience) than our local Cineworld. It is worth noting that due to the competition the Odeon cinema in Dorchester is also very cheap when compared to other cinemas - more expensive than the Plaza, but tend to show films later in the evening.

that place is still going? remember it as a kid, hopefully they still have the half time intermission ice cream
This is run by the same company that operate the Carlton Cinema in Westgate on Sea.

Same prices as Dorchester and a wonderful cinema to visit.

Brilliant cinema, and Dorchester has free parking after 6pm mon-sat and all day Sunday. I used to go weekly when I lived in Dorchester! Odeon came in to the town and had to lower their prices as nobody went there!!
Another vote for the Plaza, always try to catch a film there when visting. Great cinema. Very comfy seats. Staff really helpful. Latest films even midnight viewing of Star Wars. 3D films cost just a pound more. Sweets and drinks good price compared to other cinemas.

And you misread the price as £250 a ticket?!

Same company and prices as the carlton cinema in westgate on sea near margate. Great cinema and great prices - plus they are even participating in the meerkat movies promotion too. Never even bother to see whats on at vue nearby with these prices available.
Think this shows just how much the rest of us are getting fleeced.....

When are LIDLs going to open a cinema?
Just like the Maxime In Blackwood, Caerphilly. Took the 4 of us to see Star Wars for £10. The big multiplexes can't complete with the low prices or the intimacy of the smaller cinemas.

Not sure about being able to take beer in, though...
Good deal and now you can book where you want to sit which is new for the Plaza

I agree, people are already noisy enough in the cinema without the drink!

LOL I once went to the doubletree Hilton on Oxford street as they had a groupon deal for their small cinema so I thought it was something similar - though even that wasn't £2.50!

If everyone who had one nearby still, used their independent cinema, prices would have to be better at the 'plexes. Although, I know some independents were too slow in updating their seating and A/V equipment, so works both ways.
Be careful, the staff are on minimum wage (and do a very good job), also, the guy who runs the company does not treat staff fairly.
Awesome cinema just came from there. They even do meerkat movies so paid £5.00 for the three of us!!
Visited it last month. Nice little cinema with bargain prices.
They have 4 other cinemas too @ Bognor Regis, Clacton On Sea, Westgate On Sea & Blackwood (South Wales)
I live in Dorchester and we use tha plaza a couple of times per month. Recently refurbished and the seats are like nice layzboys with loads of leg room.

Loved the Xmas tree in each screen over Christmas.....highly recommend ..... Have some heat
Never thought to post this as a deal, even StarWars 3d was only £3.50 weekdays - even the popcorn and drinks aren't the usual rip off, great cinema, nice seats, wish they would close the Odeon and turn it into something else. Support local! Heat added.
