Still, comparatively speaking the price is good. Thanks go to the OP for taking the time to post!PS: save me money and the formatting is up to you!

It's rubbish. Didn't detect a water pipe sitting behind 12.5mm plasterboard. Didn't detect a 100Amp electrical wire either. Complete hazard. If you just want to detect studs in the wall, use a neodymium magnet one that just sticks to the wall when it locates a screw in one of the studs. Works perfect, never fails.

This is garbage, buy and you will be disappointed. Now someone will say oh but mine can detect life on mars and works 100% perfectly.... meanwhile thousands of people on Amazon will tell you it won't detect electricity if it was sitting on top of chernobyl.

Quite staggering that such a well respected brand can churn out such a bad product. Still, it seems to be the modern way of things, where profit is the only consideration!

Right. It should cost about £15. But to be fair, most of these things are crap.

If you really want to know what's behind the wall, use the knock method or a magnet to detect studs.
Anything else, drill a very small hole in the wall and get a borescope, you can pick up mobile phone ones for less than £20 and then you can be 100% sure by actually seeing what's there.

Yeah often thought about one of those scopes. I have panel floors in my house that go under the walls and so it is a nightmare lifting them up. A scope would greatly ease the problem, but as always it is about finding the right one at the right price. Don’t fancy one of those cheap Chinese models.....scopes that is!
"Professional Multi-detector" but can it tell a doctor from a dentist, an accountant from a banker?
