Decent cash back , now just need to find a good deal on the items
Unless i’ve made a mistake, you can’t search for canon lens

Yes the vast majority of products from all the major camera kit manufactures are on Camera price busters.

cheaper and a bit more expensive than what ? It is a price comparison site that compares prices at all the major camera gear stockists in the UK which is updated several times a day, it doesn't sell anything to the general public !

It’s not as great as your making out
I’ve often found cheaper in Curry’s than that website, but I doubt Curry’s pays it to use it
for instance the canon 50mm 1.8 is same price as their best price but no mention of them and quite often there are codes available for curry’s

Currys don't pay to use it, and camera price busters don't get a commission from the retailers either. It displays the latest prices listed on the retailers websites (not in store offers, which can occasionally be better). Camera price busters makes it's money out of selling the advertising space down the side of it's home page etc.

Voucher codes for Currys PC World products are regularly listed on the vouchers code page of the site (I've used them).

camerapricebuster.co.uk/Pro…ons

There are none displayed for them at the moment, but do they have any camera related voucher codes active at the moment ?

Obviously it' doesn't 100% guarantee that you are getting a product at the best available price. For example if you are prepared to buy from grey market retailers or from Ebay venders you will probably find just about anything on there cheaper, but as a price comparison site for UK camera products I don't think there is anything better out there. I normally check who they are listing as the cheapest retailer for a given product first, then check any other retailers I trust (if they are not listed) before purchasing.

Strange. They are a participating retailer and the double cashback runs from 10th October 2019 to 17th October 2019, so I'd contact them.

The cashback should be instant from the Canon Store, but you claim it back from Canon when purchasing from other retailers. The Canon Store is showing single cash back, but not the double.
snoopy1811/10/2019 19:49

What product ?

All applicable products from the Canon store are only showing as single cashback. It's probably an oversight, but the Canon store doesn't always participate in the cashback deals, so maybe the double cashback is only available from third party participating retailers listed on the Canon website.

There are many independent camera stores around that have cheaper prices, one in York was one of the cheapest and I dont see them on this site.

I don't dispute that you can occasionally find a camera product that isn't a grey imports at a lower price than listed on camera price busters. It wouldn't be practical for a price comparison sites team members to go every camera retailer in the UK and check every price of all their product several times a day. As a former shop owner I wouldn't have stood for that, and i'd be surprised if any of the stores listed on the camera price busters website would either.
It's the wording "some stuff is cheaper and some a but (bit) more" that I was referring to. A price comparison site doesn't actually sell products, it just directs you to where the cheapest products are likely to be, so (unless they charge commissions or fees of another type) it's not possible for it to be cheaper or a but (bit) more expensive. The prices can occasionally be out of date, but camera price busters checking the retailers website several times a day helps in this regard or cheaper at a retailer not listed on the website however.

EF 24-70

I'm tempted by that lens as well, but I won't be purchasing from the Canon store. It's £60-£70 cheaper from Amazon, Harrison Cameras, Jessops, Wex, Park cameras etc, although obviously I would have to wait to get the cashback. £1229 after cashback for that lens from a genuine UK stockist is a great price.

You can find cheaper sometimes on Amazon from other EU countries also, this site is good but they will miss some deals I'm sure so I would just go there and buy.
Amazon offering 5 month installments on 70-200 f2.8 iii.... is it worth to buy?

Interesting I've never thought about buying from another EU country. Do you still get a full Canon warranty that is valid in the UK, or do you need to send a faulty product back to the area/country it was intended to be sold in, so the grey market retailer can claim under the warranty on your behalf ?

It's excellent quality but a quite heavy lens due to it's fast maximum aperture.

Check out Bryans review at the The Digital Picture.com. His in depth reviews are normally the first I read before buying a new lens.

Not sure about Canon I was looking at Canon for my Daughter, I know Sony do as I had to send one back to them for calibrating about 4 years ago now, lens was bought from Italy Amazon but again this is something I've not looked at for sometime so might be worth looking into before you buy as they change they're minds on this like this from time to time.

Thanks. I expect you do at least until the end of the month, but I also suspect that the items in the current Canon cashback promotion will be cheaper from participating UK stockists at the moment after the cashback has been applied. I will take a look.
canon.co.uk/len…mo/

Canon are also running a lens reward promotion which allow you to claim cashback if you have purchased selected EOS cameras in the last 90 days, and it appears that that cashback can be claimed in addition to the cashback in this offer.

2.8. This promotion cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion, except it can be redeemed in conjunction with the following promotion:
2.8.1. Canon Lens Reward Promotion: for full terms and conditions visit: canon.ie/len…mo/

canon.co.uk/cas…ns/

Making the total cashback claimable on the lenses below, if you have also purchased a camera in that promotion in the last 90 days

EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM £250 £500 + £130 = £630
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM £220 £440 + £105 = £545
EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM £220 £440 + £105 = £545
EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM £250 £500 + £105 = £605
EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM £100 £200 + £140 = £340
RF 28-70mm f/2L USM £220 £440 + £210 = £650
RF 50mm f/1.2L USM £220 £440 +£210 = £650
I have the 70-200 2.8 L non IS, thinking of getting the 100 - 400L III which can be got for about £1300 after cashback. Anyone got the lens and can comment about it's use in the normally not so sunny birish weather?
