Hardly much left tbh
Super hot.

Just saved £70 on a new laptop as the old one died yesterday!
Not much left that's good for my use case.
I thought the Dell Inspiron 15 5570 Intel Core I5-8250U 4GB RAM 1TB HDD 15.6" was quite good (assuming you add some ram).
£399, but drops to £320 in the cart and an extra 15% off that........brings it to £272

The link is taking you to a small part - click the "Computers/Tablets & Networking" on the left anmd there's loads there!
Who has purchase a laptop from these before please? Was thinking of the acer listed above for kids for school work. Is this any good?
I'be bought a couple of mobioles off them - they were grade C, but pretty much as I expected them.........you'll see they might have multiple ads for the same thing at different prices - it's worth looking at the grading, as sometimes better graded is cheaper (bizare)

OK. The acer is grade c. Do you think it's worth a buy?
Tough call - sometimes they show pictures of the actual product and sometimes not. I've had a iphone 6 off them that was Grade C merely because it was in a brown box........but I would suggest that isn't normnally the case.
Hi thanks for post

I have an ssd from an old system that has now broken, I am looking to spend max £200 anything of note on here you would suggest? (obviously looking to put ssd into this new laptop)

thanks in advance
Thanks OP, took my chances with 2 Dell laptops, will keep best one hopefully. Good prices, like i5 10th gen for £330. Hoping for really good condition of just ONE of them

Rich pickings

any suggestions xavier?

Depends on your priorities, fave brands, features, components, tolerance of marks etc, don't have a clue what you're after.

They do have quite a number of Inspirons, you might like one, of course until it doesn't arrive physically and you have a play, you won't know if you really fancy keeping it
marks e.t.c fine budget is only really £200 and any brand providing I can fit my existing ssd in

thanks for replying

You're welcome, it's my pleasure. Unfortunately I'm only interested in the £400-700 market so don't have a clue what's below or above!

Hope someone chips in, my advice would be on a £200 budget, to go for a Chromebook, only machines that can provide a decent performance at that price point.

Daft question but I want a laptop for basic video editing and playing games (nothing too taxing - RTS’s mostly- command and conquer remake coming in June ). If I get a laptop with a separate graphics card can that be upgraded later down the line?

Depends on what you mean by separate. There are 3 ways to have a GPU attached, either it's Integrated into the cpu (integrated graphics), a separate chip soldered to the motherboard (dedicated graphics) or it's in an external box that you attach with a cable (external gpu)

Integrated and dedicated cannot normally be upgraded. External gpus can be but are limited by the bandwidth of the cable used to connect them. External gpus tend to be quite an expensive solution compared to a desktop however.

Many thanks - I did not appreciate the dedicated graphics were soldered onto the motherboard
