Flock me!

Picked up loads today, but by far the best was the build your own BBQ kit for a quid!

Local or national?

Flock me lmao

It's end of season sale stock, so should be national, if stores have any left.

I didn't buy an air mattress, but did buy a tent I don't need for a fiver (posted separately). They also had outdoor dinnerware (bought some tumblers for 25p), coolboxes, freezer blocks for 25p, 2-packs of glowsticks for 50p, outdoor cushions for £1.50, etc.
Strangely there were no sale or reduced signs on anything, so they were being largely overlooked at the end of an aisle.

Good bargain for general use. But not up to the standard needed for regular camping.

Good deal

please share with us what they do use

The floor, an airbed is just unnecessary weight.

If your just using the floor then you would probably be just a fair weather camper. When the temperature gets much below 7 you need a better barrier than the tent floor and a sleeping bad between you and the ground. Most wild-campers (not car campers) would use a foam roll mat or a very light air bed like these.

I don't have a car, everything I camp with must be easily portable. I used to use a foil roll mat but they take up a bit too much space, I just chuck a foil blanket down under my sleeping bag nowadays. I did have one of those self inflating mats but damaged it, it certainly didn't pack down as small as the one you've linked to though! If that truly does end up as small as a sigg I may be tempted.
