If I had space in my spare room for a king I'd give one of these a go as I'm not overly thrilled with my current mattress. This seems like a nice price.

A good mattress is yards better than a bad mistress....and easier on the back

Tempted by this as my mattress isn't that good either but its a "no turn" mattress which means if you spill something on it you can't turn it over and sleep on the other side as its not padded.

There's a tick where it says 'requires turning'?
ANyone know if perfecta mattresses are any good?

Seem to be a Sainsburys exclusive which always makes me suspicious of the original RRP if not one else is selling them.

Good to know if they are rebranded and made by a "name"

Layezee and Perfecta Beds is the UK?s largest volume manufacturer
of beds and mattresses. Operating from two sites in West and South
Yorkshire, the Company produces more beds a week than any other UK
bed manufacturer.

Part of the successful Silentnight Group of companies, Layezee
and Perfecta is at the forefront of product innovation, constantly
exploring new ideas and developing original concepts.

During the 1950's, Mr Norman Wilkinson made a living re-stuffing
mattresses for local people in Bradford. He soon realised he
could increase the quality and durability of mattresses and set
up his own company - Layezee Beds, in 1955.

The company prospered and in 1964 moved to larger premises in Batley,
West Yorkshire. In 1971 Layezee joined the Silentnight Group of
companies and Mr Wilkinson joined the board of the parent company.

A major investment programme was undertaken during the early 1980?s,
resulting in Layezee Beds having a brand new factory built at its
present day site in Batley. The new production unit, which was
regarded as the most modern bed-manufacturing unit in Europe,
provided the Company with a fantastic platform for future expansion.

Layezee have pioneered work on environmental management systems for
the bedding industry and in 1995 was awarded the prestigious ISO14001
accreditation in recognition of their efforts to reduce waste.

Perfecta Beds was formed over 75 years ago in Borrowash, Derbyshire
where it was originally known as 'Baines Everitt'.

In 1973, the company joined the Silentnight Group and changed its
name to Perfecta Bedding. Since then, further changes have taken
place, namely a further name change from 'Bedding' to 'Beds' to
more clearly identify the company's products and the relocation of
the business to Wombwell, Barnsley in South Yorkshire.

In December 1998 Perfecta was pleased to receive the well renowned
Investors in People (IIP) award.

Layezee and Perfecta Beds

In November 2000, the Silentnight Group formed a partnership
between Layezee and Perfecta Beds to form the largest bed manufacturer
in the UK.

Today, around 700 employees are involved directly and indirectly in
the production and distribution of thousands of beds every week from
the two sites.

Layezee and Perfecta Beds is part of Silentnight Group Limited, which
is the market leader in two sectors of the UK domestic furniture
market - beds and assembled cabinet furniture.

The Group remains the largest supplier of furniture to UK homes,
having the capacity to deliver nationwide at short notice.

Through developing close relationships within the Group companies,
our aims for quality, innovation and value for money can be achieved.

so there part of silentnight ?

Anyone know if this is semi decent?

Or can express a view on other Perfecta mattresses? I'm after a King Size bed and mattress at the moment?

Is this likely to be better than Argos offerings at the same price point?

I personally stick with Cumfilux for me and the wife - exceptional mattressess in my opinion. However, I'm in here looking at new ones for the kids! LOL

Is this good for the price, I guess is what I'm asking

Had current one for about 7 yrs and it's a run of the mill cheap double.

i have ordered one and i got a call from silentnight to confirm my order. I coudnt find a half decent sprung mattress at this price hence ordered one. decent brand ticks all the boxes in terms of specs..
will let you guys know when it comes which is not likely to happen before 5th aug

Seriously NinjaBaz - search out Cumfilux :-)

Ours is due on Friday 5th August.

There are 1200 spring double size matresses on ebay for £159 + £9.00 shipping ( buy-it-now). So a better mattress than the Sainsbury deal.

Guess where they are shipped from - Batley.
No prizes for guessing what factory they come out of.

Actually there are others even cheaper - item 290566414199 looks even better for £145.99 delivered ( for a 4.6 foot double bed size)

They are not the same though?? These ebay ones?

I was advised to buy a mattress with a minimum of 800 springs,i bought mine on Ebay,1400 springs.

Don't buy Airsprung mattresses they are rubbish.

It's unfortunate offer ends 2nd August.:( before you think you'll get yours delivered and review it for us. Was trying to see if it had a memory foam topper as it doesn't mention it. Thanks for the thought anyway.

I asked advice in a local bed shop. He seems to think £200 for an 800 pocket sprung mattress seems lke a pretty good deal. But he recommends turning it every week for the 1st 12 weeks so that the internal fibres can settle down more naturally rather than you squashing the crap out of it.

After that, he said turn it every month and it should help it last better.

If you do buy it.

DO NOT FORGET QUIDCO!

I can vouch for this being perfectly a decent mattress, the company I work for deliver these on daily basis. A good mattress should last around 10 years with proper care.

prefer these type of mattresses to the memory foam ones

memory foam is like sleeping in a greenhouse in the summer, gets too hot, i am after a latex topped pocket mattress. seem to be the most expensive though

Not really. My Silent Night one is memory foam topped with springs underneath and the top layer is normal mattress material (?) so does not get too hot in the summer but you could get the added comfort of memory foammmm

I bought two of these 10 months ago (double and king size) and would recommend this to anyone. I have had so many comments from guests saying that they have had the best nights sleep on this. I paid slighly less than this with codes found from this site.

If it's a Slient Night rebranded one, I'd stay away from this, as most likely it'd be good for a year or two but then will go flat and need replacing. Silent Night have really gone down hill in the past half decade or so imo, probably as a result of them cornering the market essentially and mass producing huge numbers of products for all the retailers (and each retailer seems to have a completely different set of mattresses than the other which is very annoying).

FWIW Sealy and Layeezee are also Silent Night brands, and I'm guessing Perfecta is a part of this group. If it is, then yeah, I'd not bother and spend a bit more for a quality brand (like Hypnos).

Thanks for the info. I've never personally heard of Hypnos, but then again, I'm hardly a bed expert!

Quite happy with my purchase at that price (Under £200 including the tracked Quidco). Was advised to turn it regularly for the first 3 months to let the fibres settle naturally and prolongue the life of the mattress by a bed shop manager. Comes on Friday, and I'm sure it'll be astep up from our current double mattress which is about half the depth of the new one and still lasted (roughly speaking!) for over 7 years.

It's a layezee bed. Try Jacamo web site.

More silentnight bashing from me I'm afraid. If you are remotely heavy, and I mean 11stone plus, these are good for maybe a couple of years. But if you're after a mattress for this money there's nothing better for the price so still a hot deal.

I have to admit, while I don't have a view on the quality of the mattress, I will never buy another mattress that I can't try first. We have suffered for a few years with a mattress that was a 'bargain' online but we can't afford to replace it.

If this mattress was in a shop somewhere to try, and then buy online, then I would go for that. But I wouldn't buy one even based on other people's recommendations. Everyone is different.

Been meaning to replace me old mattress, was on look out for memory foam but the good comments on hear have changed my mind and think I'll go with this. Cheers op. Hot price

I've been looking at these as I need to get a new king size bed to replace our double - kids often take residence in our bed, and guess who gets relegated to the spare room...:(

We're squeezed for space so like the look of the Naples bedstead on the Sainsburys site - may go for this mattress too.

Choice seems to be either this one, or there's a 'rest assured' 1400 spring /memory foam one at half price for £399 (for king size) - any thoughts??

Bet you're glad you got it! Price gone up to £648 for double, £748 for king, £548 for single.

It's pretty comfy really, but flimsy when you sit on the edge, squashing right down. Should be fine if turned regularly and much better nights sleep than our old cheapy thin double.

this is showing at £648.00 now. has the deal expired or am i missing the offer?
