They are in stock now

Brilliant, thank you! I'll go in and get some this week

I normally like to spend at least £50 when I buy my wife flowers, so what on earth is she going to do with 120 roses.

We need more vases...:)

I agree.

I'd add that while I agree with the idea behind Fair Trade stuff, it amazes me that more people don't think "hang on a minute, why is Fair Trade not the default? Why don't we assume that's the norm, and when it's not, we'll put 'ripped off' or 'used slavery' on it."

I hate the way that the default action for the purchasers / traders is to scam people less fortunate than oursleves, and it's such a rarity for us to want to give them a fair deal that we have to slap hefty logos on things.

Dont be fooled, ive worked in the wholesale flower business for 25 years to date, these are small short stemmed african roses, its like saying why by a car from ferrari when a car from lada is the same, yes we can all agree they have 4 wheels and an engine and called car.
So dont be dazzled by "a dozen red rose" offer you see in supermarkets, you get what get when spending a fiver!!! a lada not a ferrrari!!!!

Classic 'Missing the whole point of HUKD' comment!

To be fair, its not a "hot deal" if the roses are crap... IS IT! If the item is voted up based on the headline and that is all your going to base your decision then what is the point of teh comments. Some people should think before they troll... so the comment from ukbondys does not miss the point at all. Thank you for the forewarning ukbondys.

people with compassion perhaps? oO Anyone who compares peoples problems in the UK with fairtrade countries is an imbecile.

Open your eyes!

It's great when someone with knowledge shares it, but you're not really telling us anything here. This is an instore deal on flowers. People are going to look at the flowers in the shop, so they can make their own judgements. Perhaps they won't last long or perhaps they don't smell good, but if you don't explain what makes these roses a 'lada' and other roses a 'rolls royce', I'm just going to buy the cheapest ones that look decent.

And it's not possible to care about problems in more than one country? My uncle lost his job, but that doesn't stop me from caring about my neighbours' problems with their health. Caring about my neighbours doesn't stop me from caring about abused wives around the UK. Caring about women in another town doesn't stop me from caring about millions of kids living in poverty in the third world. I can't solve all of these problems, but I can care and do a little to help where possible - like buying Fair Trade. I'm not some saint here - lots of people manage to care about different things.

What does it matter how much you spend on your loved ones (£5, £50 or even £500) for that matter, It's the thought that counts

Personally I like Quality Street or Celebrations myself, Roses went downhill after they gor rid of the Bournvilles...

While thinking of a loved one plays a vital part in giving a gift, the idea that cost is irrelevant is a little silly. Booking a romantic night in a swish hotel is not the same as a romantic night in a local B&B. Likewise a £1 bunch of daffodils is not going to please someone as much as a nicely presented bouquet of flowers. One costs more than the other, and is therefore relevant.
