Do these taste different to normal chicken ones :P
Serious question

Taste more eggy if that's possible. More egg flavour like free range. 3 eggs is about 1 chicken egg though.

I've had them a few times now.

I was given some a while back and 12 eggs made scrambled eggs for me and a couple of the kids.

They are a bit tougher to crack open too. if you like pickling your own eggs, these make a good change.

Great on salads

Got no idea how much quails eggs are anywhere else, but heat from me just cos they're at Lidl:)

Hmm...thanks for the answer, think I'll avoid then. The smell of eggs eg from a plate etc makes me gag so if they're more egg I'll give it a miss. I actually have never seen quail eggs anywhere either! Will stick to 15 chicken eggs for a quid haven't voted either way though

Usually about £3 for 12 or £4 cooked and peeled. Great little snacks.

Think they are £2.78 from Waitrose:

Tesco sell quail eggs at £2.69. I read adding a teaspoon of baking powder to the pan of boiling water helps make peeling the shells much easier.

A possible spoof story, (why would she just put the eggs she didn't eat in an egg incubator. )

The ones from my quail were more rich and milder then chicken eggs, I think duck eggs were closer in taste.

but then it probably depends what they are fed on. Never had shop bought quail eggs.

Supermarket quail eggs are more watery and soft now, definitely not worth the money at £2+, but at £1 it is a good buy. Quail eggs ("when I was a lad") were firm and harder like duck eggs today but with a more delicate sweet taste so I had normally used them hard boiled in sweet puddings. The big supermarket driven policy of quail egg prices has terrorised and destroyed the taste in these eggs.

Perhaps they are fed on chick meal, I was told to feed them that but it absolutely stinks and looks horrible, extremely cheap tho. Mine got fed on Trill, lettuce, cress, chicken eggs and the odd bit of crumbled biscuit or cake as a treat.

They usually have a bigger yolk to white ratio than a chicken egg and are great for party food and canape size scotch eggs

great little eggs for tapas dishes

Few points:

That's not an egg farm.

Battery farms are illegal regardless.

Those chickens actually look in pretty good condition.

Not had this brand but the Waitrose ones are great in a massaman curry instead of meat. Heat, great price.

Do you both know for a fact that these are battery farmed or are you just being keyboard warriors for the fun of it?
