Heat added! Although I bought from home bargains yesterday for 79p
I pour half a litre of spirit vinegar in mine and put it on 90 degree wash. I use half a litre as it costs about 90p.

Sure I've picked this up at 99p shop before.
I see David Beckham is branching out into different fields.
Citric acid (about £5 for 1kg) would be another alternative to spirit vinegar, and seems to be one of the key ingredients in the beckmann stuff:-

I take the draw out and use a steamer to clean off the mould in the dispenser compartment, although I have completely dismantled the dispenser before when the water jets got blocked and cleaned the parts with bleach.
Don't use the soap dispenser Put the detergent straight into the tub. Most probe are with the soap dispenser.
I have a Miele washing machine and dryer. The mechanic from Miele said get some cheap Bio washing powder and put it in on a temp of 90°C. Do this every month.

    Are you Asian?
I use bicarbonate of soda & white vinegar, put it on a hot wash & it cleans the machine perfectly & gets rid of any lingering smells

Do you put the vingear or crystals in the drum or in the detergent dispenser?

I've seen people recommending doing a boil wash with nothing in the machine, but I always bung in some towels or floorcloths or whatever and use my regular bio powder.

Do you mix them? Surely you want them to clean & descale the tub, but they'd react and form sodium acetate and co2.

I had a washing machine get very stinky after using liquid detergents for a while. I ended up resorting to doing an empty wash with bleach, although I'm not sure that's something I'd recommend, followed by several boil washes (with a little powder to stop the detergent that was dissolving off the tub causing too much frothing) to get rid of the residue liquid, mould and smell.

I put the bicarbonate of soda into the drum & put half a cupful of white vinegar into the soap dispenser section & put the machine on a hot wash & it cleared any stale smells away.
