I used to love Dr Pepper before the artificial sweeteners kicked in

There are very few drinks now I can actually stomach that don't have them

100% agree, we don;t have much choice but I find dr pepper is one of the few I can't tolerate being half and half
Dr pepper seems to me more half on half compared to lemonade that seems more 25%/75% sweetner on lemonade ect.

I never used to buy the full sugar stuff for a £1 for 2 litre bottle on offer but have noticed that the 2l sweetner version is rarely on offer anymore, so they've cut costs and charging more... lovely, for a £1 I would pick up a few.

I tend to buy 2l bottles of sparkling water for 17p and use various sugar syrups, for example morrisons sell some strawberry syrup full sugar for £2, makes lovely strawberry fanta.

We make our own sugar syrup to boost some other drinks for example add vanilla for cream soda.

Wish they'd do "classic" Dr Pepper with actual sugar and just charge a bit more like Coke does.

I've taken to drinking "real" Coke watered down 50/50 with cheap fizzy water, you actually get to taste more of the drinks flavour. Maybe I'm just getting old !

Ohhhhh so that's why it tastes different now. Do you know which drinks are still full proper sugar sweetened?

I think original Coca Cola is one of the last remaining fizzy drinks. Roses Lime Cordial also has not been butchered yet either. These are the only two drinks I can really trust at the moment other than Beer and Gin Fevertree tonic water is also artificial sweetener free.
"Drrrrr Pepper. What's the worst that could happen?"
