As an expansion pack this really should be the standard price.

Agree this should be the retail price, unfortunately this goes for 24.73£ on Amazon.co.uk.

So, great deal. Voted hot!

Cheers,

Aaargh don't show me this! I've only recently started playing Dragon Age Origins and although I've never really been a big RPG fan I'm hooked. Been up until 3am two mornings in a row and I'm still only about 15% through the game!

If you mix this with this other deal you get the full game for £39.98

Downloading this costs about 30 quid on LIVE... so definately a good deal!

I guess is always better to have the DVD at least you can traded in afterwards.

Any idea whether you install this once and then you do not need it anymore? as you probably play with the original disc inside anyway.

As far as I'm aware you do need the disc to play it - you don't actually need the disc for the original Origins game though, as it's a different map, although you do need your old saved game if you want to carry on with your character. (at least that's the impression I just got from a similar question on one of the online forums anyway)

It's not like, say the Fallout 3 DLC released on disc where you could just install the extra content and then sell the disc on whilst using the original Fallout 3 game disc to play.

Is the expansion any good, worth the £20?

That is good to hear, I still haven't got round to playing DA:O despite purchasing it months ago. The only thing I did do is use my DLC codes before they expire at the end of this month.
Love Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Demon's Souls but hate Final Fantasy and most JRPGs.

Might be missing something but the price coms up at £22.49 for me. Not that much of a bargain then.

worth playing once you get over that boring first part (found this with mass effect 1&2), took me about 80 hours, total life drainer.

It is also worth getting the book, some people call it cheating, but there are parts that you will miss, hence how you can complete it in 60 hours.

Oh one word of advice don' ring the gong, unless you have saved the game first, you'll see what I mean.

As for the add on, it is a good price, but as others have said, this is what price it should have been released at, I think i'll wait a while and finish mass effect 2.

:whistling:

Actually missed the gong the first time I went past it, then went back later for a "mopping up" exercise before the big assault. Coooooool!

DLC/addon packs really shouldn't be this expensive although admittedly if this was for Mass Effect 2 then I would probably buy it. I bought Cerberus and that was a bit of a rip off really especially since Firewalker is crap and Zaeed is probably the single worst character I have ever found in a Bioware RPG.

I have Dragon Age but I haven't actually played it once yet.

Considering it's pretty much an entire new campaign, it's probably worth the cash.

Especially when you put into consideration that's it's only £10 more than 5 MW2 maps.

great price cheapest there is i rented it out

is this a good game?
from what i have seen it is a bit slow in combat....

Trying to justify a high price by comparing it to something most people regard as overpriced isn't a great tactic to convince people to buy it.

Instead I look at the cost of this DLC compared to the price of a full game, since that is roughly the price point they have gone for. If it launches for £30 compared to the main game for £40 is it unreasonable to assume that it would contain 3/4 of the content of a full game?

And by the time this expansion launched it cost more than just buying the game itself, and that is the point where I get put off buying it. Once the additional content starts costing more than the game itself it's time to stop and think about how much you are prepared to spend on one game.

If this was only available through Live then you're pretty much screwed as they will charge what they want. The only bonus with this, is that they chose to also sell it as a retail copy, which means over time the price will drop, and crucially the price of the add-on drops below the price of the main game.
