The end of days is near, and dragons have returned to Gransys. Become the chosen Arisen and decide the fate of the world in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, the critically acclaimed Action-RPG now updated for current generation consoles. Based in an epic fantasy setting, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen combines exhilarating and deep combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world. Choose between nine different classes and embark on your own adventure along with three AI companions, known as Pawns. These allies fight independently, develop alongside your character, and can be shared or borrowed online in exchange for treasure, tips and more.

Fight and struggle your way through the first 10 or so annoying hours of minor niggles/wtf moments and you will be rewarded with countless (and I mean countless) hours of very enjoyable and challenging content... Excellent game...

Just make sure you stay away from 'guardian' inclination with your pawn/recruited pawns as they will just stand there and watch you get murdered time and time again without lifting a finger ... Not fun!

That's interesting, I probably managed about 10 hours of this when it was on PS+ and couldn't shake the feeling that it was a Poundshop Witcher. Might have to give it a second chance when the backlog allows

I hear you. I would not have stuck with it if my gf hadn't put about 60hrs in to it and told me I would love it... And to be fair after a very rough start it really grew on me and I was actually quite sad to finish it! A B-Movie version of The Witcher 3 is probably closer than a Poundshop one because it is so cheesy (I see where you're coming from though) but the combat, world and atmosphere carry it easily... And for £14 there is so much content here!

... I played it on the PC and if you've got access to something that can run it well then it can often be found for around £8-9 on CDKeys/GamersGate etc

Thanks OP. Ordered! played on PS3 but never completed it.

what is the best class to choose and play as???

The most OP ones are Magik Archer and Magik Warrior (I forgot how they're exactly called been awhile since I played it)
You can play as many classes as you want within the three categories vocations, check these videos

There's two other videos on the side explaining the other two vocations and the classes within them
Mage at higher levels is also very OP and looks very cool all the highest levels spells
