How does it like squished fallen apples?

Don't bother getting this leaf blower. Bought this for £22.50 from Robert Dyas in 2015 and even at that price, it wasn't worth it.

The suction is terrible - you need to be very close to the leaf for it to suck it up so you'll end up having to get up close to the leaves individually to suck up the leaves.

It also makes a lot of noise, so you'll end up getting a lot of attention from the neighbours peeping through their curtains to see what's going on, only to find you struggling to pick up a leaf. It also frequently jams up in the mulching section so you end up spending most of your time taking it apart to unblock it than doing your job.

Having said that, this blower/vac does do a decent job once you're aware of it's limits. There's a particular art to using it and it's only suitable for the lightest of jobs. I bought it mainly for the suction facility but having done some more research online, most blower/vacs have terrible suction and you'll probably be better off using the traditional leaf rake.

I got this a month ago and it was of poor quality so I sent it back for a refund

A leaf blower. Surely one of the most pointless inventions of all time.

Might sound daft but i need something to remove leaves from a gravel area, I assume this will only suck up the leaves and not the gravel?

I have a retro one of these. it doesn't blow, it gathers mechanically by virtue of its... rake. It's a rake.

Does this have enough grunt to blow unwanted debris into the neighbours garden?.......
I've been overrun by squirrel carcasses since purchasing my trusty air rifle

Your right. This does sound daft.
The suction function can’t tell the difference between gravel and leaves.

You’ll end up picking up both the gravel and leaves. The gravel will destroy the mulcher and eventually the motor.

Hustler1337 is correct, just pick up the leaves.

This isn’t strong enough to pick gravel up (I have one)

Screwfix Titan one gets very good reviews, £39.99, 2 year warranty

I bought this last year - it is absolutely dire and I ended up binning it. It kept blocking up and not picking up leaves. You’re far better off with a rake or broom - you’ll collect far more leaves and much quicker.

Bought one last week and not v impressed much quicker to use a rake. The only bonus is the fact it mulches so I could get a lot more in my green bin. I'd say it would have taken me 15 mins to have raked my front garden took 45 mins with this.. it's probably ok if you don;t have too many leaves but I found I was having to kick them about to spread them out so it could cope with picking them up as it would get easily blocked if you tried sucking too many in 1 go.. these were nice dry leaves too.

Am I within my rights to take it back because I think it's a bit rubbish?
