Draper 42 Piece 1/2 Redline Socket set at lowest price ever, looks like someone has got a lot of these as nobody else has any, anyway hope it suits some others as we got one sharpish at this price!

I have purchased some items from this seller before and was looking at the ECP deals for the same thing.. at twice the price with the extra 20% off on ebay, but they have none left already!

While the set looks very good I have doubts about its longevity as I personally found draper tools to be very very poor quality and generally badly designed, so far i`ve had 4 terrible experiences with draper tools, never again.

EDIT: These seem to be the 12 point sockets? where would you use these?

Still have some redline tools going strong, well after some more expensive versions of the same gave up a decade ago!

It is a combined set of metric and imperial, an example of where would be the same place you use normal sockets

Here are all the details of the sizes included in this set

22 bi-hexagon metric sockets sized: 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 32mm

Its a mid range, £60, not a £180 similar set, from halfords, set of sockets at half the price they sell for or a full blown snap on set at £500 that will out last your car!

The deal is in the price, not the measurements, the foundries these are made at, are still producing for 2 of the other trade brands, that others still sell for more, yet they are the same compound metals!

Draper Redline is the bottom end of Draper, and their mid range is bad enough. Unless you've got 12-point bolts you don't want a 12-point socket, they just knacker the heads of 6-point bolts. In all my years I've only run into one imperial bolt, and I still cracked it off with a decent metric socket, so it's debatable how much you would need the imperial sockets. Personally I wouldn't pay anything like this for something with Draper's name on it, and I certainly wouldn't pay £60.

Anyone with Costco membership these may be worth a look less pieces then this I am not 100% on price it was £23 excluding vat but a lot of gear for the money

I think that the ratchet is most likely to fail as overtightened nuts or bolts should be undone using a breaker bar as provided in both these sets

That is good value, I needed something that had what this set has got in it and a 1/2 drive, or would have gone for something like that one, still think some are getting carried away with what this deal is not, its a £65 selling everywhere socket set, for half the price with free delivery!
Draper is about as bad as it gets, And checkout the ratchet, The worst sort.
