Having broken my husbands spirit level, I have been scouting about on the net looking for a replacement, came across this which looks a good price, rrp is £17.10, but for £7.94 del you get not 1 but 2 levels, has a good review and the big one on its own is £5.57 ( after 50% discount ) @ amazon, there are a few draper levels on offer at amazon, around 50% off, will put links to those in the 1st post

Handy set comprising 600 mm long spirit level (accuracy 1 mm per 1 m = 0.057 degrees in standard position) and 230 mm magnetic boat level (accuracy 1.5 mm per 1 m = 0.1 degrees in standard position). Shrink wrapped for security.

looks better than my shed

I don't buy spirit levels on-line because of the may be knocked about in transit, I prefer to buy in-store where I can check whether they are true.

As this is Amazon there's a good chance that this will be delivered by Yodel, so it won't matter what quality it is to start with because you can be sure by the time you get it, it will be about as true as a Minister in HM's Government

Having broken my husbands spirit level,

It begs the question. How on earth did you brake your husband spirit level?

(maybe you just broke your husbands spirit?!?)

I tried to buy an entry level £40 1800mm Stabila from Toolstation. So I could check it I went to the local branch to buy the one they were supposed to have in stock. When I got there, they took ages to bring it and then presented me with a £15 Silverline one with the code for the Stabila one written in marker pen on the bag. So I said "that's not a Stabila" to which they said "they're all the same mate" to which I said "Er no" and left. Because I needed a level that day I went into Wickes and bought their £38 one and it's been great.

I like Toolstation for delivering small orders, next day, but I'm not going to waste time with the muppets in the local branch any more.

If it gets delivered at all with those eejits...

Only ever had 4 orders sent to me through Yodel.
The first one was lost and it took them 2 weeks to admit they'd lost it, I received a refund from the seller.
The second one took nearly 3 weeks to arrive having been sent next day delivery.
The third one I'd paid extra for a specified delivery date and despite it being dispatched in time to them and having the "deliver on..." sticker, it still came the day afterwards and they didn't compensate me for staying in all day waiting for it (the tracker said it was in the van about to be delivered but it never came).
The fourth one I missed delivery (again delivered on wrong date) and had a card saying I could collect it from my local depot but it wasn't printed where it was. I checked online for the nearest depot and it said it was Wednesbury, 14.5 miles away. Drove down there, took over an hour due to M6 traffic, and then got told that the depot which serves my ST postcode was actually in Lichfield which is 21 miles from home!! Then had to drive up to Lichfield which took another 1.5 hours. So had nearly a 4 hour round trip because of them not delivering on the correct date and not saying which depot it was being held in.

I've never had a problem with an Amazon del, and have found their cs dept amazingly helpful with other problems I've had
