This is easily the equivalent of the Halfords Professional which is £24.99.

I had this same model, the rachet reverse black adjuster lasted a month before it fell off and broke, must add I was using it a lot while restoring my spit screen

I have some Draper expert and Halfords Prof tools as well as a lot of other brands and there is nothing to choose between the two IMHO both are quality tools for home use. The ratchet I.ve posted comes from the expert range which is superior to their everyday tools

No sorry as good as the Halfords not by a long way Draper are average run of the mill tools. You won't see a real mechanic using them but they would use the Halfords profesional.

I keep saying it but I,ll say it again the Expert range is easily the same quality and price as the Halfords pro. Most people on here are more familiar with Halfords because every town as an Halfords

The Draper Expert Range are in a different league to standard Draper tools.
I've had an expert range socket set for years and the quality and durability of it is exceptional.

I was on my phone posting earlier so I did not get a chance to explain my reasoning further. Having examined both in dept I would in my personal opinion rate the halfords pro range as superior, one for a better quality ratchet much stronger and durable. I agree the expert range is better than the usual draper crap they bring out, but the expert range it by no means somthing I would personally rely on in a garage. Most garages I've been in have used minly snap on but the cost I would say reflects quality and a few chaps use the halfords stuff which is a compromise as such but being made by britool its quality gear along with the lifetime policy. I had had less hassle returning a halfords tool than I would a snapon tool as they are sneaky buggers who dispute how it was damaged. Sorry to side track this drapper is perfectly fine for occasion home use/saturday morning mechanic use but if you are to reply deeply on a tool for trade do not bother.

When the price dropped on this last time an aprentice I know bought it and used it in a garage for everyday use it lasted 2 months, we took it apart purely out of interest to see the ratchet was buggered. It may look and feel like a quality tool but as I say I feel its not. He know uses a halfords ratchet. Not to dear with a trade discount aswell.

Definitely good enough for the tool box that gets visited one every few months, worth every penny.

Each to his own but just my 2p's worht

Your right not one of us would touch this with a barge pole

For trade use no chance, for home use and absolute bargain heat added, I'm thinking purely from a trade poiint of view incase anyone else was thinking of using it as a main tool.

I've had no experience with there socket stuff (good to know), just with the ratchet which was no so favourable.

I have the 3/8 drive set and the ratchet looks identical to the one in this deal, apart from the fact its the bigger 1/2 drive. Mine also has the quick release function, so i would assume the quality will be the same as the OP's deal..... and i still state its very good quality.
You can break any ratchet of any make if you abuse it, including the Halfords ones and Snap On.... nuts & bolts should be uncracked with a breaker or sliding T Bar before using any ratchet.

A sliding T bar sorry m8 but thats just absolute rubbish.

Why is it rubbish.... a sliding t bar can undo a tight nut just like breaker bar can.
