The draper expert range are good quality.

I had dealings with Draper a couple of months ago regarding a kit with a couple of bits in that were incorrectly supplied. Nothing but praise for them - had new bits out in the post within a couple of days.

£13.33 noiw - heat added tho - seems a good price

About £4 less than I've seen them elsewhere, so not a bad price, but I don't think I'd pay for Draper tools anyway...

I have a draper socket set that was left to me by an uncle 20 years ago (it was probably 20 years old then.) A brilliant set that has never failed and is as good as anything I have used as an engineer.
If you wish to pay excessive money for a "quality" brand then feel free but if you read reviews for some of those products you will find other brands are often as good or sometimes better.

Draper Expert is pretty much re-branded Elora gear, so it's good quality.

I'm tempted by this. Need a torque wrench more though.

Used Draper in the past, never again.

Poor quality.

In MY experience, you get what you pay for.

I use this exact set every day as a washing machine engineer and it's great quality - takes quite a hammering but still works perfectly. One of the great things about this set is that is has a recess on the back of the socket which takes hexagonal screwdriver bits directly - no need for an adapter so really convenient.

The only downside is that this set doesn't come with a 13mm socket which is a useful size but otherwise it's top stuff.

old draper was good quality

recent stuff is chinese crap

the expert range i have found to be very good quality however

great price

This is hot.DO NOT confuse Draper`s value range or their "Draper" range with this.
Draper Expert gear is what professionals use among other brands.

Expert range has been very decent.
Taken half of my cars and bikes apart using the 1/2" drive set I bought years ago, ratchet is still lovely and smooth and it's all still in great condition.
May buy this one too as I could do with a more compact set for the fiddly jobs with limited access

Agreed the value stuff is breakable as I found out, but the expert stuff is quality from what I can see.

Gotta agree with others here, the expert range is decent quality stuff. Don't confuse it with the standard Draper gear which is cheap tat.

Agree completely, i bought a draper set that must have been about 30 years old off an engineer who was retiring, they were the best sockets/ratchets i have ever owned...then someone stole them, i bloody hate junkies.

Anyway i recon to buy a set of the standard that i lost I'd be looking at either bahco or snap on both of which cost a kings ransom, but will be worth it in the long run.

That said modern draper expert is a lot better than the draper you find in wilkos/super markets, which is really a disgrace to the brand and shows just how far they have fallen.

Draper tools 40 years ago were made by men called 'Bob' and 'Bert' who drank Wards Bitter down t'pub, raced pidgeons and enjoyed a good fight on a Saturday night after watching Wednesday lose 4-1 to Man United with Nobby Styles getting a hat trick. Not any more.

Don't think you can compare old for new.

Every socket set needs at least one extension as it makes life so much easier but this set ain't got one.

I bought the Halfords pro set when it was onhere for £15 (now £20)

halfords.com/web…572

It's a more comprehensive set with more sockets and bits, extension bar, flexible joint, spinner handle, adapter.

I'm very impressed with the quality and I think I would go for that set again rather than this one, even at £20.
