Thats the point - they are not basic in terms of quality or ease of use.

How are they any easier to use than any other screwdrivers? I've certainly never come across a screwdriver that was difficult to use. Think I'd like a bit more in the box for the money. Though the other one posted for £15 looks good.

"jd moyers "yup i agree with you completely

Just ordered one.
Thank's

I have the green handle pozi and they are solid , they are as solid as snap on and the handles are a soft grip and the heads fit screws well.

would be careful with draper stuff.....expert stuff is ok, ordinary stuff is rubbish...prefer ratchet screwdrivers myself (saves alot of effort but bulkier than an ordinary screwdriver).....dont like using screwriver bits in a drill as its easy to strip the head/overtighten

i use this one....brilliant perfect for diyers

Do you know I would have put money on a trite response along those lines from someone when I was writing that!

How are they any easier to use than any other screwdrivers?
Because they are better balanced, have better designed handles, are much nicer to grip than cheapo ones, the tips are a better fit in the slots etc etc.

You may well "certainly never come across a screwdriver that was difficult to use" - all I can say to that is - you havent used as many screwdivers over as many years as I have. Ask anyone who has regularly and extensively wielded one in anger - I'm sure they will agree!

youd have to be a plank to buy this.....why not go to B&Q and get a kicthen work top (£30 at mo with 15%) off, get them to cut it to size, get some fixings and youve got much better work area and larger one if required (mine is 2.5 metres wide) and will last alot longer than this rubbish mdf jobby.....who are they trying to kid £300 rrp lol!!
my 2.5m wroktop cost about £55 with fixings and legs

not bad but for a pound … not bad but for a pound extra!!!!!http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/466057/draper-40850-70-piece-screwdriver-s

Again - not comparing like for like.
No where near the same quality.

The problem with cheap screwdriver sets becomes obvious as soon as you try to unscrew a tight philips head one - the screw starts biting into the tip and before you know it you've got a useless screwdriver. This is expecially a problem with smaller tips (e.g. computer sized ones) and is why I've given up on the cheap ones.

The magic word here is 'Expert' which denotes it is from the higher quality Draper range (now sold out from Amazon direct BTW) so the larger 70 odd piece set for a couple of quid more is the poorer standard range.

A quality set of screwdrivers will last forever (unless you use them as chisels...) The cheap ones will round off with the first tough screw you try to remove.

Have to say I've got loads of cheap screwdrivers and never has a problem with them - I don't wield them regularly and extensively in anger that's for sure! Got some cheap draper ones about a year ago that have got really strong tips on them. Though maybe I've just been lucky and happened to find good quality stuff cheaply, which is certainly a rare these days.

Yes, £34.68 does seem a tad expensive for an 8-piece set, considering that you can pick up a 12 Piece Stanley Fatmax set for £32.32 (amazon.co.uk/Fat…8-3), and Fatmax are pretty much as good as it gets... well, apart from the likes of Snap-on. These are a bargain though for £13.65 (assuming that these are of good quality) and Draper Expert is top-end as regards quality. Heat added
