To all asking how they work - you first need a drayton wiser thermostat kit, this effectively acts as a hub. I chose the 1 channel kit as i have a combi boiler, if you have a gas boiler and hot water tank its 2 channel, if you want to thermostats its channel 3. You set the temp via Drayton's app, you can go pretty in depth with scheduling and IFTTT.

Excellent deal! I ended up paying about £30 each for mine 🔥🔥
Wow, that is a great deal! Wish this had been on a year ago when I kitted all my radiators out with these!!
I've placed my reservation for 3 to collect tomorrow, so hopefully there's no issue! Can't believe they're on clearance, makes me wonder if there's a new version due to arrive?
Sorry for the dumb questions...how do these work?

Are they designed to control the temperature of individual radiators manually or as they've been described as smart do you need the Hive or Nest gubbins?

Do they need to be installed by a professional?

Thanks for helping a luddite!
Great deal, that will be all rooms in the house done for me. Thanks
Thanks ordered 4. Don't know if they will work in my house though, the range of the heat hub to the wifi and thermostat is very poor.
Do these work with existing controls or do you need to replace the thermostat, like with Tado?

I’d like to retain my Valiant weather compensating controller because it controls the boiler better than third party controls (and the boiler doesn’t natively support open therm for modulation control)
Great find! Thanks
any idea if these work in conjunction with Hive?

You will need to get a heat hub for them to work, search for Drayton wiser thermostat kit. Nest and Hive not needed. Radiator thermostats are simple to install, just unscrew the old ones to replace. Heat hub is a bit harder, I had an electrician do mine.
Great find, thanks OP. Got 5, that does my whole house!

Have you left one radiator with a standard shut off valve? I always thought a combi system should have one non TRV radiator, e.g. mine is at the front door. Although correct me if i'm wrong..

Yeah, my radiator in the hallway is a tall vertical one with no trv on it. Thanks though
I don't need these yet but might get a couple ready for the future. These things are great!

Ok great, I haven't even installed mine yet, but this deal is too good to miss. Have you fitted the actual thermostat near to the radiator with the standard shut off valve?

When you say thermostat, do you mean the hub? Just want to make sure I answer correctly! My hub is in the bathroom cupboard with the boiler (fitted myself, was quite easy) and then the portable thermostat is in my living room at present
Awesome find OP, best ever price I've seen and just when I need them for the whole home renovation too

I'm talking about the portable thermostat.. if it's in the living room with does it not conflict with your TRV in this room? Hence asking if it's close to the radiator without a TRV..
Awesome find. I've reserved two for collection.

The hubs are on sale too for anyone interested;

Kit 1 - heating only
Kit 2 - heating and hot water

Kit 3 - 2 zone heating and hot water IS NOT on sale

Gotcha. I haven't installed these trvs yet so don't know but in terms of my current set up, it works fine
even the thermostat kits are in clearance

Yeh I think once you come to it have a read online, the TRV and thermostat can conflict so maybe move it.

I'm getting slightly concerned they're going to run out and delivery take priority! I reserved mine for collection tomorrow :O fingers crossed their stock system is up to date!

I have a combi boiler, is there any benefit in spending the extra £3 and getting kit 2? Presumably it will still be compatible with a combi system?

Will do thanks. Fingers crossed you get them! I elected for delivery as I won't have time to collect them
This deal could get hotter than my radiators

No, you need the 1 channel kit. 2 channel is for a hot water tank.
Ordered 3. Thanks
Just installing a new system, should I go Wiser or Tado?
This is absolutely scorching, ordered 2 more!

Depends on the boiler, personally I’d go Honeywell.
The description says that these valves are battery operated...what kind of battery and how long do they last?

Quite a bit more pricey.
We're going sealed system vaillant I think

AA and they last a heck of a long time.

2 x AA. Had mine in for around 6 months and not needed replacing yet
I have a 2 zone system - lounge with a thermostat, and hallway thermostat for the rest of the house. Been told kit 3 is best for me, but obvs not in the sale. I assume this is all that would work for me rather than getting 2x kit 1 and using both thermostats? (As the controller only operates 1 zone?)
i appreciate I could buy additional rad thermostats for the lounge and do away with a wall thermostat in there I suppose

I’d make sure whatever new boiler you fit make sure it’s Opentherm compatible.

Depends what boiler type you have, although I don’t see why you’d want extra thermostats as the TRV does that job. I believe if you have a Combi you can only use one channel kit, but then add extra wall thermostats if you like
