Also includes a comprehensive music maker

I paid £26.84 for the digital version using 2x £18 PSN cards from Eneba & after Quidco cashback (£18 PSN cards currently not available @ Eneba).

Good price like the look of it but dont have the time
I wish I had the creativity to even attempt anything beyond a stick man.
It'd be great if they released a free version solely for the purposes of playing everyone's creations.

They could call it Dreamers! But yes I agree a budget/free version without the creation tools would surely prove popular.
I think this looks superb though can't justify buying a PS4 this late in the day, a PC version would be very welcome.
Ive had my eye on this for a while now and I was gonna get it for my birthday next week, but I suppose with a deal like this I can get it for myself a tad earlier now.. Thank you so much, I wouldn't have known it was this cheap without this deal! Heat added

It would seem that the general consensus is that I'm a fool, I'm ok with that, there's truth in it, my post was unnecessary and aggravating. You however are unkind and took the opportunity to be chip in and be abusive because it made you feel good and righteous. On balance you've acted worse but I doubt you and many others will recognise that (after all you chose to be abusive and people liked it) such is the allure of inflammatory self-righteousness.

As you admit, you came across as a massive tool. You pounced on someone's post identifying a problem that wasn't there. The use of the phrase "chop chop" was the epitome of arrogance.

I won't apoligise for my comment and have no power over others agreement. The moral of this story is "if you take offence at being called a 🔔end, don't act like one".

OP, thanks for this post. Dreams looks a really interesting concept. I think I'll give it a go at this price.

Seems I was right, you are unable to recognise that you are abusive and that you think abuse is justifiable. MrNutts reasonable response to me helped me realise that my post was out of order. He did that in a civilised fashion which I appreciate, it served to highlight the class that I lacked. You on the other hand have a mean streak and I feel sorry for you. I'm not after an apology, I just wanted you to know that your abusive hubris is as much a character flaw as my initial post. But at least I can reflect on it and say I was wrong.

I really thought I was a nice chap but you, Sir, have taught me otherwise. I will now treat everyone with the utmost empathy and will be careful and considerate to not upset their feelings. I will strive to be a better person and only hope that one day I can live up to your standards.

No problem

Thanks for the honourable mention in your other conversation. I encourage (and hope) you both leave each other be. I’ve seen too much arguing on here lately, it’s not worth anyone’s time. You were a bit sarcy, you realised, you apologised. Don’t worry about anything else.

I’m just playing a bit of Watchdogs but I’m shattered so might stick a film on and fall asleep soon.Have a good Saturday everyone
I saw a news article on the BBC this morning about Dreams, they were taking about a wee young boy that was doing ‘A level stuff’ with Dreams - the mum had no idea what her son was doing with Dreams, but she was clearly thrilled.

The other night I gave up after an hour or so having become frustrated, realising I’m just lacking the patience required for it.

I have a First Class and two Masters degrees, I can’t tell you how low this made me feel.....

I've seen a few videos on games that have been created & I'm quite impressed. I was wondering from people who have the game, is a lot of these games short or is some quite long?

I feel this game would benefit so much if it had a 1-3 hour trial on the store.

Bought this earlier and have been playing through the example game by the developers to show what's it's capable of. That's an amazing game by itself . Arts Dream is around 3 hours and really quite beautiful.
Have not even started a tutorial to learn how do anything yet
Very much worth the £35 I paid digital for it.
Very impressed.

Yeah the majority are short experiences... particularly those that are based on existing licences... I'd recommend Dreams to everybody, but you have to set your expectations. If you're going into this just to play games then you may as well change its name to 'eshop the game' - you're going to be shifting through alot of rubbish. I think the 'storefront' needs some work tbh...the new 'spotlight' section often has poor, usually broken, creations...I'm not really sure what qualifies for the spot light. But, like the eshop, there's definitely some gems in there. I think just a bit too buried. Particularly at the moment when the majority of new releases coming out right now are saved as 'my creation' because people new to the game are just releasing anything (mainly creations that are made during the tutorial).

Things will hopefully get better there, and make it easier to find decent stuff. But give it a chance.

The best way thing this game would benefit from is if Sony starts packaging it free with every console going forward (including ps5)

I bought it when it first came to early access...not intent at creating games. I was just using it to make music...which I did for first few months. Then decided to try my hand at making something. There's going to be trial and error as you learn the logic. But you soon learn if you show a little bit of patience.
I've just put out my second game and currently planning out my third. Basically learning as I go and seeing big improvements...my first game I basically skipped tutorials and just tried things out. Looking back at it I definitely did things the hard way round. And my second game I've done things like very basic AI for the first time, multiple endings, seen improvements in my animation, and messed a little with dialog choices.

And if you attempt stuff but it's just not clicking there's always something for you to contribute. People do voice overs etc

The thing I’m finding most annoying is the constant realigning of the imp to the centre of the screen, it’s making things harder than they need to be - I have a nerve injury to my wrist which is exasperating the problem.

It's biggest flaw is, and has always been, drift. I've not seen any real improvements to fix it. But there have been improvements to the options you're given now. You now have the option to turn off motion controls, maybe try that? Or see how it is with the moves. I have the moves but I've learned on the ds4...all the button placements are different, so found it too hard changing over now. But you're new to is so you may pick it up easier.
There's also a trick where if it is drifting you can turn the control on and off again and it will settle it for abit.

Once you get the hang of it things become a lot easier. Can still frustrate at times, but seeing the results you wanted makes it worth it. Check out my games (both horror titles though). My first is called Answer the phone. It was full of trial and error, drift frustration, and figuring things out as I go. But I'm happy with the results. Then check out my second game Two lovers and their sister. It was full of trail and error, drift frustration, and figuring things out as I go. But I'm happy with the results there too. And once it's out and you start getting 'likes' for something you've made it spurs you on and you forget how you spent countless hours play testing everything because you know some player is going to go out of their way to try and break it. Or the hours where you were stuck on something that was so simple but you just couldn't see it so wasted hours.

If your nerve damage is becoming a real problem with it though then dont force yourself to keep trying to make a game. Maybe try your hand at other things you can do with these tools. Try creating some music. Even if you've never had any interest in music, or can't play anything, you might be surprised at how enjoyable it can be...or you might accidentally discover you're good at creating sound effects. He'll, you can even make new instruments with this thing.

Or try and put some voices out there. You might find you enjoy acting.

Or just keep it to play, there's always going to be something new and better at some point. The campaign shows off the possibilities of the engine.

We could do with realigning a few imps in this thread.
Great price. Had my eye on this game for my kids birthday. Ordered straight away. Although the discount wasn't much every little helps plus I wouldn't have known about this site without the heads up on here

Heh yeah I remember cubase. The instrument library available to you in this is insane. And once you get used to using your controller to play them the sound production can be recording studio level stuff. I just wish I had a decent mic.

Glad turning off motion controls has helped!

... Now to look up house prices in Milton Keynes :/
One of those rare occasions where I'd say buying this digitally is actually the better option. This is a great price, but trust me, firing this up straight from the HDD without having to swap discs over from other games will prove more popular, because you'll be firing up this game quite often. As for a free version, the Devs have stated that they hope to see people's individual games being released on the PS store in the future, so not sure they'll do a free version.
Dreams is phenomenal, worth every penny. Whichever way you buy it.

Agreed, there'll be years of content in this, so it's unlikely you'd be trading it in any time soon, it's effectively an always online game (so, little value in having a disc for future offline play) and digital is more convenient. And you can get it for under £30 using discounted PSN credit anyway.
