Dredd Blu-Ray 3D + Blu-Ray now at Sainsburys Entertainment for £5.00

The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One- a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called “Judges” who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd (Karl Urban) is the ultimate Judge, challenged with ridding the city of its latest scourge – a dangerous drug epidemic that has users of “Slo-Mo” experiencing reality at a fraction of its normal speed.

During a routine day on the job, Dredd is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A heinous crime calls them to a neighborhood where fellow Judges rarely dare to venture- a 200 story vertical slum controlled by prostitute turned drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her ruthless clan. When they capture one of the clan’s inner circle, Ma-Ma overtakes the compound’s control center and wages a dirty, vicious war against the Judges that proves she will stop at nothing to protect her empire. With the body count climbing and no way out, Dredd and Anderson must confront the odds and engage in the relentless battle for their survival.

The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and director Pete Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film. Filmed in 3D with stunning slow motion photography sequences, the film returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.

Dredd 3D Blu-ray was not mentioned when you first posted, I think you have since edited your post. Originally your post was just Last Stand if I remember correctly.

Great Movie.....Well worth the money...Hope they decide on a sequel!

Really good film. I think Sainsburys have it as this price quite often, as I picked it up instore a couple of months back. Heat added

Top deal. Best film. Just buy it

Correct. This deal has more heat now, so if anything delete the other post, not this one.

I'm gonna be one of those people......Not one of those people you ask "If you know anybody selling a red vacuum please let me know" to which they respond "If you would have told me last week......"

But one of those people that state, I got this for a quid with the recent Sainsbury's voucher glitch to take £5 off a entertainment purchase.

Regardless heat added.

Call me fan driven but I'm seriously considering buying my second copy of this just to support any chance of a sequel coming out. First time I saw this in the cinema I was like 'Hey this is a really cool movie!' then I got it on Blu Ray and now I've rewatched it about 20+ times! Its such a blast and I love Karl Urban's growls and knarls that he does throughout, really captures the spirit of Dredd from the comics.

Don't forget about the petition for the sequel guys and if all else fails I pray to god that some sort of Kickstarter is made for it as I'd back so much support into that

Excellent film. Thanks.

This deal has been Judged........Hot

Top film.

Incendiary round selected, heat given.

Brilliant film, shame they won't greenlight a sequel..

This is really a great great film... HIGHLY recommend it.

Ordered, great price, heat added.

watched the raid first and this after. so similar.

Goodness knows why this is so hot, it's only a quid cheaper than it's been for the last 6 months!

The Raid was a shadow of this. Poor plot. Crap acting. Crap ending. And came out after Dredd was conceived too. Why the heat for it when Dredd puts it to shame baffles me

Reviews don't do this justice. I saw a ton of films last year and this was in my top 3 along with django and zero dark thirty

Actual quality

Good film.... The 3d is quite good to...voted hot

Funny - I opened this up with the exact same thing in mind!
I've only seen it once so far, but will definitely have to give it another viewing soon...

Might be worth picking up a copy of Underbelly too if you haven't already... Think the physical release has already sold out, but a digi version should be available from the 2000ad site

Lost count of how many times I've said this but this really is worth a purchase and the 3D in this does make a difference, it's really well done.

I bought a digital copy of Underbelly from Amazon for £1.65 the other day, a little cheaper than the 2000ad site.

Totally agree.....mental

in fact its only £1.26 cheaper than the next cheapest, but people have price trigger points in their mind and £5 is a common one. i have seen this on dvd from the library and gave it 7/10 which is a score that would put any film in my top 5 of the year over the last few years.

Still sealed in cupboard.

Both are great films in their own way in my opinion, actually quite different even though they are quite similar. The Raid was also about the action, and I thought it was amazing.

I agree that this reboot is far superior but stallone's JD was still reasonably entertaining...and it had Ian Dury in it

Why even buy them if you're just going to trade them in anyway? Surely rentals would be more suited in your case... Those are two films that just wouldn't leave my collection, anyhow!

The 2000ad site offers you DRM-free downloads though (.cbz or .pdf, or both if you want to be greedy!) - a much better alternative to that restrictive Amazon nonsense!

A quid is not a small proportion when you are talking about a five quid blu-ray. The fact that it has never been cheaper warrants heat, as with the fact that you can get a rated 3D bluray for change when dreck like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is still retailing for 18 quid. And Sylvester Stallone is not in it.

i traded in the single disc version of apoc.now(paid £6 got £5 exchange) because i just bought the 3 disc version last week for £8.72 and no point in keeping both. i paid a fiver for raising arizona and got £5 exchange which i was happy with.

Don't waste your money (if you already have a copy) the sequel has no chance. It reportedly cost $50,000,000 to make and took a grand total of $35,000,000 worldwide so didn't even make it's costs back let alone the marketing dollars. So no amount of DVD/Blu Ray sales will make it happen. Which is a pity as it is a great movie. Hot from me at this price.

Contrary to other posters, having paid full price for this film on release (Blu-Ray) I am of the opinion that this film is garbage and not even worth the reduced Sainsbury price.
As for a sequel? I sincerely hope not.

It sort of sums you up.
