Hmm looks like a good saving, might get one of these and the dremmel kit amazon.co.uk/Dre…y_3

Great price thanks

Well, I was gonna go for this, but for the few times I'll ever use it, the Black & Decker RT650/Kit Box/Tools that cost me a tenner from Homebase will do the job.

I've just had a look for the RT650 I purchased and in hindsight, I should have posted it here as it retails at around £50.

Was a about 3 years ago tho;

Didn't realise I'd got such a bargain at the time.

Any idea if the 'Dremel Kit' will fit the Black & Decker rotary tool?

Sorry I don't know the answer to that.... I've just gone and bought this Dremel and the 100 piece accessory kit that was reduced from £27.99 to £16.99

Thanks OP

I take it that the one for sale is THIS?

Can't speak for any specific tool but all standard Dremel and identi-Dremel accessories have a 1/8th inch 3.2mm shaft to fit, obviously, a 3.2mm collet. So, if your tool uses a 3.2mm collet, the Dremel kit of accessories should work just fine.

For example, I purchased a £5.99 mini-tool from Maplin a while back and the Dremel accessories that I have fit and work perfectly. When I work with the £5.99 tool, I need to remember that it is a total wimp by comparison with my Dremel and so I have to exert a lot less pressure and be far gentler. With those caveats, all is well and I can and do buy any kit of bits that takes my fancy and matches my finances.

looks a great price! thanks op. Heat!

It looks the same and I hope so as I've ordered it. It seems to come with a fair range of attachments inlcuding the quick release disc cutters

Have this myself. The 100 piece kit to go with it is ok if you require all the pieces, but i end up just needing new blades which you can also buy in a pack.

I've been meaning to cut a circular hole in the side of my PC case for a fan so I've ordered this. If I buy amazon.co.uk/Dre…1-1 then what else do I need to cut steel? The circle cutter says it only comes with bits for drywall, wood and laminate.

Get one of these, I bought one a couple of days ago & it fits my Dremel fine

maplin.co.uk/400…922

Good buy!!! I just bought this with the flexi bit for £59 in B&Q best rotory tool I have used for ages.

The quick release disks are soooooo much better than the screw on types.

Great tool! I don't know what I would do for the oddest of jobs without this and my bosch gop300

Which of the 15 tools would be the best to trim my man garden?

Would this be alright for sanding off paint from plaster? I'd use a large sander but I've been told that's more likely to damage the plaster whereas although sanding with this will take a long time, I'll be able to pay close attention to detail.

Some poor review of this Dremel on Amazon. I've been looking for a new one since my friend managed to seize the collet on mine.

What sort of surface area? Why can't you just paint / paper over?

The surface is too uneven to paint over, I need a nice smooth finish otherwise I don't think it will look very good. Papering is an option but I've never been very good at it and there's a lot of things to paper around.

Just realised that sanding is a bad idea anyway incase there's lead paint lurking underneath.

Long document about the tool.

Does anyone else's Dremel 3000 seem to get faster and faster when under load regardless of what speed you set it to. Is there some intelligent digital motor thing going on? Or is it going through some warm up thing?

Was pretty disappointed with it ever since I got it, definitely one of those things people say everyone should get and actually its useless unless you buy hundreds of pounds worth of other stuff.

homebase are doing it for the same price until 21 july with 15% off in store - was £33.49, 15% off now £28.47. Picked mine up this afternoon

I thought it was my imagination, but I have experienced it getting faster as I've been doing a long cut with the cut-off wheel. Still a good tool though, I've not been disappointed with the torque of this tool and it works great.

Didn't need one. Ordered one + 100 piece accessory mentioned here. I hate that website ......:)

Go for the chilli covered ball-ripper... So smooth.

I already have one of these and they are brilliant. Get the tiles attachment if doing tiles- comes in so handy!!

The Dremel branded bits can be quite expensive and make sure you read what bits are in the accesdories kits - sometimes they are mostly little sanders which are next to useless.

I have used mine a bit but agree that they can be disappointing as they are often not powerful enough for the job.

Thanks for that, just picked one up (+ kit) in store.

Get a block of wood and some sandpaper. That will give you the best finish.

ordered to replace my faulty 300 which argos will be refunding. I hope this is better as the variable speed on the 300 was stuck on the fastest speed.

Expired!

Not expired. Still £28.47

Ordered mine yesterday (Sunday). Just got a knock on the door - delivered.

seems the link now shows another supplier who has it more expensive. But if you click on "More buying Choices" you can see that Amazon still list it as the same price.
