Good movie, great soundtrack!
Really can't go wrong with Drive and like @casasteve said the soundtrack is amazing. Makes you wonder why the BBC felt the need to do that weird replacement version.

Didn't know they did, but my guess would be something to do with music licensing. It's why old episodes of Top Gear on the Dave channel used different music to the original broadcast episodes (really crappy too!).
Great movie and soundtrack. dialogue is awful though

It was a few years back. It basically some Radio 1 DJ decided to replace the soundtrack (most likely with his mates) for a one off showing, just because he could. The original music has been licensed for the film so would be safe.

It just seemed like a really weird thing to do, especially for a movie that's so well known for its soundtrack.

This is the only reference to it on Wikipedia
"A re-scored soundtrack for the film was produced for the BBC by Zane Lowe for its television broadcast in October 2014. The soundtrack included original music from Chvrches, Banks, Bastille, Eric Prydz, SBTRKT, Bring Me the Horizon, The 1975 and Laura Mvula.[50]"

Oh right. Seems like a weird ego trip thing to do for a movie known for it's soundtrack I guess!
Love the opening sequence

It's just a bit of an art project no ego involved.. People inspired by the film made some new music that they thought would be good for it. 1975's song Medicine could easily have fit in the original film in my opinion.
Don't know why people like this, I found it boring.

It still comes across as kind of disrespectful myself, perhaps not from the artists involved but definitely from Lowe to profess your love for something and then want to replace whats pretty much the backbone of the film. It's definitely a slap in the face to the original films musical artists Kavinsky's Nightcall sets the tone for that movie so perfectly that replacing it seems ultimately pointless. It's a bit like getting Danny Elfman to rescore Blade Runner.

Horses for courses I guess. I like the mood of the film, it's quite cinematic and the way it's shot is visually quite pleasing etc. It's all personal taste

Have to agree plus when it gets violent, it's brutal. The place beyond the pines was good too
