This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

(Known as the MJX Bugs 3 everywhere else, think Drocon is the EU brand name). I bought this for boyf last week thinking it would just be a cheap, useless toy and would be a passing fancy for a few hours.

To my surprise this has quite a following and many consider it the "best sub-£100 drone" (mind you, many reviews I've read are a year or two old).

Recommended age, on the box is 14+.

60% off Promo (hit "Redeem") here:
3340561.jpgComes to £22
3340561.jpgIt is FAST and seems very well-built. Only downside is (suppose this applies to all drones), you'll need more batteries. The controller has an alarm when it's going out of range or running out of batteries - it warns you in good time.

The unit itself has LED night lights (blue and red) and a white light on the front, on the "nose".

Obviously, fly responsibly and respect other people's space, avoid trees, electric power lines, etc, etc.
3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpg3340561.jpgIf you are looking for a drone that does it all.. better..lasting longer, flying faster..and filming in gorgeous HD you can't go wrong with the DROCON Blue Bugs 3.

1, Brushless Motor:
With powerful, ultra efficient motors, Bugs 3 can launch towards the stratosphere at a breakneck pace or calmly hover at a stable height for the perfect shot.
2, Fly against high speed wind:

3, Longer Flight Time:
Bugs 3 lasts for 15 minutes at mid-to-high throttle, and up to 20 minutes with conservative use. Bugs 3 flies stable & smooth for beginners and faster for expert.
4, Never lose your Bugs 3:
Bugs 3 has low speed and high speed which makes it easier to be managed and will quickly improve skills for beginners. Responsive controls and large flight distance make it a difficult drone to lose.
5, Your first sport drone:
Experts can push their talents to the limit... leaving spectators stunned...with full throttle flips, dives and other jaw dropping maneuvers. (Bugs 3 can even be customized by experts and veterans.
6, Blue Bugs 3 carries all popular HD and 4k action cameras, GoPro Hero etc. (camera is not included).

Can't really verify that yet, it arrived with some charge in it, but we gave it an extra two hours and it was ready to go.

Edit 24th November 11.20am: As I can't Edit the Deal post, The 60% off voucher is now Expired, but you can still buy this for £24.99 - same item and seller - here

Don’t need it but to good of a offer. Lots of good reviews also. Gets delivers later today.
Can't seem to edit the original Deal post for some reason, but all reviews of the Blue are here

Finding pictures of it lit up are a bit of a challenge, but I found a stock picture (underneath the Bugs 3, it's white LEDs front, red LEDs rear - you can turn these off if you wish, to save power)
On the "nose" it lights up white.
39092596-SP34Y.jpgThis probably isn't for absolute beginners - boyf has a cheapie one and has some idea how to control them.

The Gadgeteer also said, "...the drone doesn’t have flight by GPS, altitude hold mode, one key take off landing, or headless mode, it does have gyro stability and can be flown with the speed and agility of a racer."

*I thought the LED lights underneath were red and blue, can't edit above, as I said, d'oh

Yup, just like most drones unless you buy a fast charger and cells.
Instead of fast chargers, it's best to buy multiple batteries and chargers, as I did
I don't need this ... I don't need this ... I don't need this ... Damn I bought 1

Anyone recommend a decent starter drone circa £100? Be appreciated
dont forget the soon to start licence fee for owning drones

If you mean Amazon reviews, 20th November is the latest review here - they weren't sorted by date in the link I left above.

for quality, can't beat a DJI tello, though I think its controlled via hand gestures or your smartphone, but for quality it is the best you will get for £100. Link here for argos, might find somewhere else cheaper though.
These are the brilliant starter drones, back to basics with no GPS or other assists, learn how to take-off, fly and land this properly and it'll give you a good background for any other drone

I started with this exact same model, then got into the other Bugs versions, and for £22 UK/Europe based so no waiting for the slow boat from China is a bargain

The last paper I read on the subject stated that it was only a requirement for drones over 250g, which this is AND also included a camera, which it doesn't, so this should be exempt - unless they've changed the goalposts again without actually telling anyone.

And, hasn't it been delayed again since ours mp's are quite busy doing other thinks at the moment
I have one of these from 2 years ago and it is a beast in terms of power. No pilot assists which makes it a tricky one to get used to but capable of great height and speed. Think of it as the muscle car if drones! Tempted to buy this for pages as an additional battery and charger would be useful! The latest version is the bugs 3 pro which has pilot assists.
Why can’t I see this promo discount?
I can't see a promo code either. Has it expired?

YES
That went quick! Decided to order one just after I posted my last comment so must have been just before it expired!

I believe it has now come in and all drone owners have to pay a £9 p.a. registration fee plus all drone operators have to pass an online free multiple choice test. Also I can find nothing about cameras making any difference.
i got one for 33 quid then 60 perc off, so about 14 quid

and got another one for 25

received a few days ago, great drone, amazing value

Law comes into effect end of this month. If you are responsible for a drone weighing more than 250g you need an Operators ID (£9pa) and I believe your drone needs to be labelled with it. If you also fly a drone, you need a flyers ID (free). A camera on the drone has no effect on the requirements above.

Had a promo offer of 50% off. Not as cheap as £22 but for £2.99 extra I was going to complain
Edited by: "allytee" 24th Nov 2019
Its a great price for this drone, brushed motor etc..., It is a toy, but it is pretty close to the video capturing drones not like most of the toy drones you see usually on here at this price. If you have never flown a drone and want to get an understanding then this £24 is the very best option for sure before you spend the £100's.

Yeah, I saw that last night. Same item, same seller, different listing but that one works out at £24.99 with the 50% off coupon 39094858-zBijl.jpg39094858-Ea8OS.jpg

The 60% off voucher is Expired, but you can still buy this for £24.99, see my post above
lots of mod videos on youtube, i.e. extending range etc.
they show the inside of the drone, it has 4 individual speed controllers, the motors are brushless and it can be converted to use 3 cell lipos.
its not a toy its built the same way as a 500 quid drone, but without the weird apple security that will not let you change batteries to another type or lock the battery into a certain number of uses.
Probably goes without saying but don't try it out indoors next to the Christmas tree! Not even for just a second to see if the motors work! 🌲🚁
good point dont try it indoors since it will be more powerfull than non brushless drones, plus its maybe against the new drone law and you may hurt someone

Thanks for your post, I’ve ordered with the latest deal for £24.99. It also said it comes with a free fitness tracker with the code. Add to your basket and enter the code 6ZEZTSJZ at checkout. I couldn’t get it for free for some whatever reason but hopefully someone might? Amazing price, thanks again!
