Went looking for a good price on this after seeing some of the reviews (how have I not noticed this game until now).

This seems to be a great price for the game, a playlist pack and two discovery packs as the extra packs alone are worth about £20.

For anyone who has no idea what this game is, heres a quick blurb:
DropMix lets you play music like never before! This fast-paced music mixing game gives you a new way to collect, discover and combine your favorite tracks. Compete with your friends and create unexpected song mixes! Keep the music pumping with multiple ways to play: freestyle, clash, and party.

It's actually £37.94. Wanted to have a go on this since it was released but it was just too expensive. This is a great price though. ORDERED

Cheers
This thing is ace, but it died an horrific death at retail due to the initial price and some rather poor marketing decisions. Make sure to grab some more of the cards if you can, as the more options you have, the better it ultimately is.
They also have it on their eBay page. I think it’s going to be pap but bought anyway

Classic hukd
Ordered. Always fancied this, but was put off by the price and difficulty obtaining cards.

Any idea if the free Playlist Pack is always the Hip Hop one shown in the photo, or is it random?
Just a heads up that Game were clearing out their stock of this a few months ago (similar price, £40 for the base game), and by the end the Playlist packs were going as cheap as £2.99 (and 99p for discover packs I believe)... it was in the summer so likely most are gone now, but if anyone picks up this deal and is passing a Game branch it's probably worth having a quick ask to see if they have any sitting around out the back. Also there were 2 sets of Discover packs and (I think) 4 Playlist packs that were available in the States but never even got released over here, so if anyone happens to have American relatives/friends they might be able to grab some of those on the cheap for you. As Markusdragon says, Dropmix really improves exponentially the more cards you have for it. It's a crying shame they messed up the marketing because it's great.
I’ve been looking at this for a while, but just wondering if this product has been abandoned by Hasbro or are they still supporting it with new packs?

I think it's safe to say it's dead in the UK... as for the USA - it seems uncertain but it looks like it may have some life left. Harmonix are still engaging with fans (they started some sort of "Dropmix Insider" program not so long ago), and playlist packs have continued to be released in the later half of 2018, with others scheduled but still unreleased. They've guaranteed support for the app until the end of 2019 at least, but there's no reason to think it won't go on for quite a bit longer after that.

Bear in mind that even just with what's been released so far it's possible to amass a collection of over 300 cards, which is a huge amount of variety already. Though do be aware that doing that will become exponentially more expensive as you get the easy ones and are left looking for the rarer packs, especially since you'll probably end up importing many from the States. (I've used Amazon.com for several playlist packs, but just saw two new ones on there that I don't have yet and annoyingly they don't seem to want to ship to the UK now... not sure what's going on there.)

Lots of info on the Dropmix subreddit: reddit.com/r/d…v2/
I have to echo the other comments lamenting the poor marketing and high RRP of this. It's a great little device and it is great fun but I don't anticipate it being supported for long, especially in the UK.

Still, for £40, it's well worth it. You'll get your money's worth of fun out of it.

Thanks for the help and information. I've ordered this now, and look very much forward to playing! Will join the subreddit too, thanks for the heads up on that.

Do you have any recommendations on where to get the additional playlist cards from? Or is it just a case of searching the usual places (Amazon, eBay?)

Yeah, other than getting lucky at Game as I mentioned above, it's probably one for ebay... if you keep an eye out you should be able to pick up the 4 Playlist packs that released in the UK for £5-10 each. That doubles your card count from the base game, & is probably plenty to be getting on with. After that it starts to get trickier... the Discover packs seem to be a bit of a premium now. If you do find you really like it and want more the next best option is probably the other "common" Playlist packs from America (Lucky, Energy, Flora and... the other one I can't remember) which retail at $15 each - you just need a way to get them sent over! If you do eventually go for the Discover packs it's generally better value to hunt them down by "series" (6-packs) rather than trying to get them individually.

Anyway, before any of that just have a good play of the base game as it is... no point going crazy if you don't enjoy it! Have fun!
I managed to get 4 playlist packs (Electro, Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop) and 4 series-2 discover packs for 98p each (plus 3 for 2) from my local GAME last night.

I already said - 98p each. Plus buy 3 for the price of 2. So worked out £1.96 per 3 packs.
Did you have to ask for them?

Now that is a Hot Deal! Well done!

Out of interest where are you? I know that many Game branches were cleared out because there was a thread about this on the boardgamegeek.com deals forum a while ago so quite a few folks went looking for them then... I figured there'd be a few left here & there though.

You did really well to get all 4 packs - I had to try 3 different branches before I got all 4.

Yes. I phoned the branch and the guy had a look around the back and found them, so I popped in after work.

This was at the Waverley Market branch in Edinburgh. They had a few doubles which I left. They also had some series 1 discovery packs, which were scanning at £3.99 or £4.99. Since the DropMix system is coming with 2 random packs, I left those.

I went into my local game and literally nobody there even knew what it was. They 'had a look out back' but I wasn't in luck unfortunately!

I bought it in the summer with lots of extra packs. It's brilliant how it works but there is no 'game' to play. Good for an hour to mess about with
