If you're going to order this, be aware that it works _much_ better when covered (to keep the heat in, duh). I'm not aware of any third party covers (please feel free to correct me), so the only options you have are using something like a duvet sheet, or buying Lakeland's cover directly from them lakeland.co.uk/252…ver

I can confirm a sheet over the top works brilliantly.

How does this compare to using normal clothes airers with a dehumidifier set to laundry mode in a small room with the doors and windows closed?

Apart from thick jeans my current method of drying clothes has a full load dry in around 6 hours. I’m just not sure I would want to drop £100 on this if the results will be very similar.

However, to make energy efficient compressor dehumidifiers work effectively you do need a warmish house to begin with or they just do not economically remove any moisture from the air (or your clothes). As we all know keeping a house warm is not exactly cheap these days. Would welcome thoughts. Thanks! (edited)

I've got a heated airer (earlier Lakeland model) and bought a dehumidifier a year or so ago. I now hang all my clothes on the airer, put the cover on and stick the dehumidifier inside with the heated airer off - wish I'd done it years ago as it's much faster than using just the heated airer. If I need everything dry even quicker I can turn the heated airer on too. My house isn't usually that warm.

Good price. New with 3 year warranty is double the price.

I know people love these but I couldn't get on with it - I had the mini version. I found you had to rearrange the clothes regularly as only the the part in contact with the heated rail would dry.

I ended up getting a dehumidifier in the end with a "laundry" drying function and found that worked much better.

Is it cheaper to run this per hour than putting the heating on and drying on radiators?

I’ve got the one from Aldi we’re selling for £90, brilliant came with a cover. Don’t think they’re worth it unless have a cover. My tip is Heat for 6-8 hours but then leave cover on for another few, better if place near a radiator x
