£113 on a toaster. They're not even that good!

It's that why they cost so much?

Is this for real!

My parents have one of these and generally buy this sort of thing because they think they're posh. They're also deluded and have a rubbish toaster.

I would want a topless butler to make the toast for this price.

Had a Dualit toaster since 1995... expensive but a quality product... and the toast tastes so much better than if done in that Tefal, DeLonghi, Kenwood tat*

*That bit's not true... it's probably identical.

dear Mr Echo,

how much did you paid in 1995? this would be very interesting to see the price different.

OMG £113 for a toaster??? is someone taking the mickey?? how can someone even post that as a deal lol

I can go into asda and buy about 7 toasters for this price. They would last longer. Stupid amount of money for a toaster!

It was a 4 slice one and I think it was £115 at the time reduced from £160... I wouldn't pay that for a toaster now... it was just where we were then. I remember getting home with it and saying to my wife "did we really just willingly pay £115 for a toaster?"

Like I say I wouldn't pay that these days but don't regret buying it at all. I don't know how long a £20 toaster is expected to last but I do feel like we've had our money's worth. Incidentally we haven't had to replace anything on it... it's all as it was from new. Probably jinxed it now!

I'd love to find a toaster that actually toasts all the bread. Some of the bread always sticks out.
I've yet to buy one that doesn't leave some of the bread untoasted. My pet hate
You think that they would test them first or at least measure a piece of bread to see that it fits.

I paid £195 for the 4 slice toaster (in black) with 2 toasting cages and Jug Kettle 3 years ago. Both are great and still look new. Maybe worth it in the long run, if you want quality and look after them?!
