Atlantis, The Palm is a magnificent, oceanic tribute to a mythological age. A vast waterscape, Atlantis is a place of sunken aquatic chambers, submerged ruins, and exhilarating water rides. Where shark experiences thrill and dolphin encounters leave lifelong impressions. A world where an exotic marine landscape is combined with sumptuous guest rooms and suites, diverse restaurants and stylish boutiques to form the ultimate resort destination.

Every guest room and suite at Atlantis, The Palm, has a magnificent vista. Overlook the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf, or take in the sweeping views across the Palm Jumeirah towards the cityscape of Dubai. Traditional Arabic sailing dhows can still be seen along this coast. Over 700 of the guest rooms are Queen bed twin rooms, providing a consistent experience for large groups as well as the option of shared occupancy. For a more exclusive experience, The Imperial Club provides an enhanced level of guest services with private in- room registration and additional in-room amenities including nightly celebrity chefs hors douvres served in the Club lounge. Most of the deluxe guest rooms and Atlantis guest rooms are larger than average, measuring from 45 to 47 square metres. All suites are sumptuously appointed and creatively designed spaces in which to enjoy Atlantis.

From fine dining to fun and family dining, celebrity chefs to poolside snacks, indoor dining to al-fresco. Atlantis has 17 restaurants, bars and lounges to suit every taste. The world-renowned Nobu will feature at Atlantis, The Palm. With a fusion of Asian flavours, Nobu is a destination restaurant of celebrity status. Santi Santamaria feature with his signature seafood restaurant, Ossiano. SeaFire is a sumptuous steakhouse and grill with open fire and terracotta hues. Authentic Arabian dishes are served within the theatrical setting of Levantine a colourful experience with nightly entertainment. Locatellis is a fashionably fun Italian restaurant featuring a huge central oven and circular family tables. By contrast, guests can enjoy casual dining and sea breezes at Nasimi by the Royal Pool and a delicious array of culinary influences at Kaleidoscope

For those seeking high-octane excitement, nothing competes with the playground of water thrills and swimming pools of Aquaventure. Visible from miles offshore, the Ziggurat is the centrepiece with its 27.5 metre near-vertical drop propelling visitors through a submerged tunnel into a shark-filled lagoon. Sensational downhill rides and uphill coasters, a 2 kilometre long wave river with over 1 metre high waves and a tidal wave pool make Aquaventure an unrivalled experience for all the family.

I'm gonna stay well clear of Dubai after reading and seeing exactly how these multi-million dollar companies employed contractors to work in horrendous conditions fit only for an animal - not even an Asda £2 chicken would put up with it.

Build it & they will come - alas, they do.

I just don't get Dubai, an arrid hellhole manipulated into something resembling a concrete jungle, but sufficiently luring enough to fool punters into parting with their hard earned. A bit like Benidorm but unfortunately without the [email protected] aspect ....& 8 hours more flying time.

Suitable for Susan Boyle I suppose (if, being a sweaty she can stand the 40C+....& Dubai is probably the one country that hasn't heard her sing her one trick pony song yet)

We went to the Atlantis for its opening last year and its well worth it, you need to upgrade the flights so you actually have the full three days and nights there, and as for it being benidorm, the guy knows nothing!!! accepted it is a building site but you get yourself in a mall or hotel etc and its incredible, the people are so nice and friendly, they appreciate the custom.
As for the hotel, I ve been to some great ones across the world and this sure ranks up there with the best, not too sure about taking a little one for such a short time though.
