Huh? great film.

Good film, all the better for never seeing the truck driver. Here's a recent photo of the 1960 Peterbilt 281 truck, one of 3 Peterbilt's used in the film. It was used when the engine of the original 1956 Peterbilt that appeared in most of the film became clapped out.

A very memorable film and one that leaves you with questions rather than giving any answers. A great debut by the most successful film director in history. Pedantic I know but I thought it was a 1955 Peterbilt 281? Also look at the front of the truck what do the multiple licence plates suggest to you? Never noticed this until I read about it on the net.

They belong to previous victims that he has driven off the road/killed?
I swear I thought that before I googled it and had it confirmed. ;-)
Don't remember the extra licence plates from watching the film quite a few times over the years though.

The sequel, Convoy, is even better.
