can someone please put one of these as main pic, can't see how to do it on iPhone. Cheers

Seen this yesterday but didnt get one, may pop back....

The fact that it doesnt have the "self clean" function isnt a problem for me as ive read on review sites that with the original you may end up havin to do a manual clean anyway.

these look pretty neat, there may be further price action on it as apparently its bigger brother is to be reduced to £34.
2 for £40 on the paint aswell starts friday

Yes, it's £34

tek yer gran in on wednesday to get it for just over £30

tis alot better than the compact

Theres the bit that tells me a brush or a roller is as good - it doesnt clean itself
one thing i would recomend folks if i bought one of those kits that cleams your brushes and rollers - you install into your drill and its done in seconds- well worth the £18 you get them via qvc

Nice! I'll be suggesting this to the folks! Heat added

Thank you - just what i need!

Thanks nice find

The bigger self cleaning one here for £34:

diy.com/diy…501

and was also this price a year ago - there was a topic here on HUKD about refilling with other paints - a no no apparently as it clogs it:

hotukdeals.com/ite…d-/

Just reserved one to pick up.

I'll pop in on Friday for some paint - thanks for the post - need to get some painting done - anything that inspires you to do diy has to be hot.

Also saw some tutorials on youtube made by a bloke with a funny laugh here:

hope they have some of these tomorrow as just told hubby we need it..... honest

good deal thank u x

was about to buy one and 2 paints yesterday when i realised could get 6 tins of paint, a roller or pad or and still have change so didnt bother

Dear me, why would you buy one of these for any price?

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you have to buy the correct paint pod style tin to use with these?

Instead of buying this overpriced tat, go to Brewers, buy a Purdy roller, sleeve, a paint tray and some Dulux Trade paint. It'll cost you far less than one of these and a paint pod.

im sure this is the normal price anyway

The lack of decent colours is it's major downfall for me. I bought one seen the colour list and took it back and just bought standard paints and rollers.

I think the normal price for the compact will be about £35 and the big one is £50. The paint pods themselves are £30 each, so there are savings to be had if you fancy one.

Has anyone actually tried this? I'd be tempted if it was any good...

this takes a long time to clean . i think i wasted more time cleaning it than saving time by using it. (compared to regular roler)

Some tutors at my local college tried one out. They said it works pretty well but the cost of the kit would be a big negative.

Also, you can only use the paint pods, as someone said £30 a time. So you're stuck with that price, the colours available and a less than trade standard paint.

Huge pile of both of these models in the Wigan store

I can personally vouch for the PaintPod...made painting my daughter's room very easy!!! Not sure what the Compact one is like....

My mums looking at these the other week in b&q but wasn't sure on them at the price,i'll let her no about this offer she may get one at that price. Can you use any paint in these or do you need to use the proper stuff as i guess it will be expensive

apparently these are supposed to retail at around £47 according to the dulux rep. so excellent buy. also the spectrum of colours will be opening up soon, to any that can mixed. eta by end of this year so will offer more flexibility. It is worth asking at B&Q if you can have a go as there would be no problem in setting one up as with the big version.

You have to use specific paint. Don't think it's because of the paint, but the shape of the paint pod. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong

I did read a few weeks ago that Dulux were going to add another ten colours to the range for the paint pod and the same article also said that you would soon be able to buy any two 5litre colours for £40, the normal price for colour at the moment is just short of £30 and white is about £20.

May well be tempted if these prices comes about

You cannot use any paint or it will clog the system - different stuff so they can charge you more.

Bought one today, thanks OP.

My mum n I got one of the larger ones each today and got 2 pods of paint for £40. People that now think Im mad hold up. A little birdie told me that the paint that you have mixed is of the same consistency as the pod paints, so purchase the pods once and reuse them with mixed paint and it will not damage the machine as it has been tried and tested several times by the afore mentioned birdie. I am going to get cracking with mine the weekend hopefully so will let you know.

The Dulux stuff that gets mixed to your specific colour is pretty much the same as the off the shelf Dulux tubs (we deal with some of these types of machines through my work). Consistency should be about the same so may be a little thick for the PaintPod.

I tried something similar with the normal brush on Cuprinol Fence paint and a battery operated sprayer (because the brush on stuff was waaaaayy cheaper) and it spluttered out the paint wand instead of giving of a nice fine spray.

Worth a go I suppose. Let us know how you get on.

Are you sure about that. Is it only the mixed paints that it will work with and not block it up?

It was someone who works in B&Q that told me she tested it in her new house so used loads of dif colours she had mixed in store and no probs with the machine at all. So now she never buys Pod paints but the mixed ones as it works out loads cheaper.
