Just found these while doing my normal shopping. They are £10 instore & online but normal price is £16. Got one for myself. Hope someone could save some money. Still expensive everywhere else.

Also in the matt version if you prefer. Cheaper than buying the 2.5L size, got to be a good deal.

terrible paint,

I dont think so, I think these r the best.

Dulux is good quality. Great price for 5L. Heat from me.

Good price for good paint. Used some yesterday and it's very good quality paint and for 5 litres it's a great deal.

Just used this for the final coat on my newly plastered kitchen ceiling .....Thanks op (I think! ). Heat added.

I wouldn't say terrible, but the quality of Dulux emulsion has become inconsistent over the years, certainly it isn't going to give the same coverage as Dulux Trade, hence the cheap price, mind you £10 is quite good for Dulux 5L, usually around £12-£13.Having said that, this is on par with Leyland, Crown, and better than own brand stuff in supermarkets, B&Q, Homebase etc which should generally be avoided, unless you just want a cheap emulsion to let down a bit for 1st coating new plaster etc.Wilkinsons own brand emulsion is also pretty good for the price, can't remember who manufacturers for them, as is 'most' of Wickes.

just painted my sisters hall with this, more of a white with a hint of blue, have given it 3 coats and still it looks like it needs at least another 2 coats, awful is an under statement, the trade stuff is great, but very expensive and i find the crown breathe easy very good too, leyland trade is excellent but i have to order it through the post so it works out very expensive

Thanks OP

I think Asda also have the small tins of satin for woodwork if that's what you are looking for. Dulux satinwood is £7 for 750ml, £13.98 in B & Q.

You can buy this in white and then add a couple of strongly coloured Dulux tester pots. Mix, mix and mix again.....voila, a pastel paint at much less than buying it this colour!

no they have still got some that's pretty good thou

Dulux is no longer a quality paint ......avoid........formulae has been changed.......used it in the past
For nearly 40 years. Watery and lacks cover ability. Crown breathable is a better alternative.
Dulux trade probably is ok but prohibitory expensive.
I will not be purchasing Dulux again 5 coats on hall ceiling and still looked terrible ......Loads of time and effort wasted using a poor quality product.

I've got pink walls at the moment.. it'll probably take 3-4 coats to hide that away.
Alternatively I'll have to strip the old paint off, which is a headache.

£14 for 10L in Costco.

water down some pva bond, roll on the paint, let it dry for about 10mins (will still be tacky) then steam of.
Not a headache but workable

I got the same deal at Tesco, it's been that price for a while there. It was great watered down on new plaster. However, I found that the latest deal at Wickes was better - £13.99 I think for 10L Trade White Matt, I found it to be equally good quailty. Whatever you do don't buy the B&Q Matt White for £10 for 10L as it is absolutely terrible, virtually impossible to apply in a normal manner.

so what is the best value paint out there currently ?

Where is the best place to buy this 'Trade' Dulux Briliant White Paint (in Silk)? I am fed up wasting time (and money) on cheap paint.

5 coats? was it vinyl silk on bare plaster by any chancee, cos that'll explain 5 coats. also strip paint off walls? ive never heard of anyone ever doing that, just give it another coat. for whites and magnolias its permoglaze all the way for me. and wickes vinyl matt is also excellent. as for colours, ive never had a problem with johnsons.

Decorating house for the last year tried many different emulsions but a decent cheap one is Vectra Basics picked up in B @ Q yesterday for £9 inclusive of 10% discount.
Decent reviews on Screwfix- screwfix.com/p/v…454

omg massive troll alert please do not feed they thrive on emotions ha ha ha
amazing deal imo

Wickes own brand white paint is the business, bought B&Q stuff, this in the OP and both needed at least 3 coats to look even acceptable. The wickes stuff after one coat it looked ok, but after 2 it was great think it only cost £18 or so for 10 litres. Will definitely be buying it again.

Can I get some advice, my builders used Dulux Trade Diamond Matt Pure Brilliant White can I use Dulux Matt Pure Brilliant White for places that require touch ups. Will this paint stand out as different from the Dulux Trade that has already been painted? Cheers.
