What does the vinyl mean? Is that noticeably different from eggshell? Thanks

With wall paints they're are contract matt's and vinyl matts (And also Soft Sheen & Silk). Most of the time contract Matt contains no vinyl. It's a type of paint which is breathable and mainly a base coat for new plaster. Vinyl Matt is a finish coat. Vinyl Matt is what you'd use for your typical plaster walls and ceilings. Do NOT use Vinyl Matt on new plaster as it stops the plaster "breathing" through the paint. Only use it when you've applied a base coat first. Eggshell is a finish/type of paint used for wood and metal. It's a totally different product. Matt, Soft Sheen & Silk you'd use for walls and ceilings. Eggshell, Satinwood & Gloss you'd use for wood & metal as a basic rule. I hope this helps! (edited)

    Suitable for bathrooms?

Soft Sheen would be more suited for bathrooms. It has a slightly shimmer to the paint finish which allows moisture to run down the wall and not sit and cause marks. If it's a bathroom which isn't prone to high levels of moisture, then this would be ok!

I’m surprised that this is not hotter, as it is a great price. The same paint is around £50 for 10 litres elsewhere, or £40 for the 7.5l pack.

Good paint. I have used this for ceiling and finish was impressive even with single coat. About a £1 more from Jewsons. (edited)

Love the Dulux and Johnson's Trade products. No professional but I'm told I'm not bad for an amateur/diy'er. Always find if you go for the trade, you just get the edge in finish and performance.
