Best comment ever!

Not the slightest convincing!

The easiest way to tell one of these apart from the real thing is if it has a flashing LED, it's fake.

99p stores also, just dont put batteries in them if u dont want a flashing light, also print out a cctv in operation notice , place in window, that should help as deterant obviously not gonna stop the most determined tea leaf or idiot vandal!

My local use these in store I ment to deter theft. There's 3 real ones and about 10 fake ones. Obviously I know these are the ones for sale in poundland haha

My opinion. If someone has to use these and only spend 1 pound on protection then there's really nothing to protect in their house.

and therefore no one will bother breaking in! Genius! I'm getting dozens of em up!

Fake and flashing LED or not, it's a deterrent that makes anyone think twice about approaching the house. And if a burglar is foolish enough to walk up close enough to check if it's not real, it's probably his first job as he could have had his picture taken doing so. Ha Ha ...:)

HEAT GIVEN. For a quid it's worth a try.

I wonder if Poundland ever get burgled ?

These keep coming up, and they still continue to be krap deals

cold these are this price all the time

Why do they always have the flashing led?! You'd think if you were going to make a product like this you'd do your research first and see that CCTV doesn't have a flashing light!

Most people shop at Poundland so when someone sees one stuck to a house they're going to know it isn't real.

those are crap, there are ones which looks like a real cctv cameras which cost only some $4 on ebay from china, got few of those and they work a treat, got so much of petty theft going around my farm after these no1 has come back..

Ok. I get the picture (pun intended) that these are fairly rubbish but wondered how they are meant to be installed/attached? Just thinking maybe one would be enough to fool the local drug addicts, at least from distance.

Upon close inspection, my camera purchased today from Poundland has no connectivity whatsoever. No SD card, no USB connection, no Bluetooth. Quite how we are expected to transfer the recorded video I do not know. You may as well buy a useless piece of plastic with a flashing LED than this so-called 'CCTV camera'.

You're not wrong but I think this dummy CCTV is probably cheaper!

I found that they did when placed in a public changing cubical.

Why do these dummies try so hard? Are there any real CCTV cameras with a flashing LED in them?!

The only dummy is the one buying this

You'd be better off glueing the pound coin the the pavement outside your house, with the amount of attention that seems to get,no thief would dare risk breaking into your house

Wow so negative remarks. You will deter many but the likes of Nathan Hunt will get in.

D1 or 960h?

Black white or colour ?

It makes a cheap enclosure for DIY projects. Plastic domes are more expensive than this on ebay, and you also get a battery holder. So, from that perspective, it's not actually that bad.

Hot, have some heat.

Anyone not sure whether to buy one, will probably not after reading most of the comments on here.

Amazon sell theses for £2.15 and the majority of reviews are 4 and 5 star rated, by people who have actually purchased one.:)

Gonna have to agree with this guy. If I saw this outside someones house I'd say it was fake. Especially if it's callously stuck to the side of a brick wall with no wires like I've seen a few times. Plus why would you put a flashing LED in this? Would that not just attract unwanted attention?

A cheap product with good intentions but ultimately self-defeating in both design and application. If I were a filthy little scab I'd worry more about a wired dome fixed to pole or under a sheltered doorway with no LED. You could make this look convincing with a bit of work but I can't see your average consumer going that far for a dummy cam.

Our CCTV on site has a flashing LED, why do folk think that if there is an LED it's a dunmmy?
We record direct to DVR with a 4 way split screen, seems to work fine, the LED is not in the view of the camera it's at exactly 6 o clock.

Am I missing something fundamental?

what kind of depth of field do we get from these babies?

Pinched a few of these when no one was looking.

The man with the empty pockets, laughs in the face of a theif

The flashing LED is probably to reassure the owners more than anything else... and maybe to draw attention - "look here, flashing light on a security camera woooooo it's the 80s". As people have said, though, just don't put a battery in. Job done.

To stop these being hacked by Russian websites, you should change the default password.X)
