Not all....in my line of work in a previous life I got to meet some very intelligent 'Burglars' who had never been caught or been suspected of anything for a very long time....(Their Morals are for another day....) part of some peoples perceptions are driven only by the media and as we all know, that's as truthful as what you read on the Internet....as in every walk of life, dumb is necessary.

So whilst it is true that dumb criminals do exist, and even intelligent burglars make dumb mistakes, (so that the newspapers can publish those stupid burglar stories,) it pays to remember that the average criminal will apply at least a little thought to carrying out his wicked trade. Buying this hot deal will go along away in protecting your home.

sorry but cold. the minute you spot a box with blinking led, can tell it is fake. Same goes for camera, not one of the real external siren boxes or camera that i have seen has any form of blinking led on them.

The response wireless alarms have a blinking led , well mine has so they might get a surprise when it goes off.

Suppose you always get dumb answers from people who haven't got a clue. Thinking about it all the alarms around me have blinking LEDs .

Look again, nearly all external sounders have one if not two led's ADT, CHUBB etc etc

I'm dyslexic and am a hard working burglar and find this thread offensive.

Its always the people who have these or even real ones that get burgled

So it the "Dummy house alarm" marketed for dummies then? X)

Ha ha. My alarm has an LED light and it's certainly not fake.

So now burglars know your cheap, you have a fake alarm, and want to deter people from breaking in? May as well leave the door open.

What a load of Rubish!!
Most people would up their security after being burgled by fitting good alarms and dummy boxes.

A walls tub is a genius Idea, print off the Yale logo, stick it on and Voila, security! If blue-peter taught me anything, its that I can make some PIR sensors with a bit of stickyback plastic and a fairy bottle

This could be useful as a project with a raspberry pi or arduino.

Can you not read? I did say real ones.

Why on earth would you want to "fit good alarms and dummy boxes"?

surely you'd want to show them you had a real ADT/YALE...etc system in operation?

I have a real alarm box on the front of the house and a replica dummy box on the rear.

Touch wood, not been burgled yet.

You can often buy dummy boxes of real alarm sirens. Ours had 2, a real one and an empty one for the other side of the house though.

Didn't put any up, is rather them **** themselves and run.

Not that anyone takes notice of alarms anyway, some go off enough that it's basically an indication that someone is not home!

I can read and that's not what you said.
Most installations have a real siren box and a dummy box as part of the installation.
Can you explain why an alarm box either real or dummy is like a 'ROB ME' sign? Even the most dimmest burglars would choose the house without the bell boxes if they had a choice.
