Imagine you can control the forces of a noble family, guild, or religious order on a barren planet which is the only source for the most valuable substance in the known universe.

Imagine you can rewrite the script for one of the most famous science fiction books of all time. Welcome to the acclaimed 40-year-old board game which allows you to recreate the incredible world of Frank Herbert’s DUNE.

In DUNE you will become the leader of one of six great factions. Each wishes to control the most valuable resource in the universe - melange, the mysterious spice only found at great cost on the planet DUNE. As Duke Leto Atreides says “All fades before melange. A handful of spice will buy a home on Tupile. It cannot be manufactured, it must be mined on Arrakis. It is unique and it has true geriatric properties.” And without melange space travel would be impossible. Only by ingesting the addictive drug can the Guild Steersman continue to experience visions of the future, enabling them to plot a safe path through hyperspace.

Who will control DUNE? Become one of the characters and their forces from the book and . . . You decide!

Always worth checking boardgameprices before …Always worth checking boardgameprices before purchasing:boardgameprices.co.uk/item/show/10468/dune?search=DuneAs cheap as this is I suspect it will drop below 30 sooner rather than later.

Titan games is not allowed on HUKD due insufficient reviews and contact details. Same with playboardgames.
Can be had cheaper but not allowed to share them

That's odd, my Zatu must have had something else on it then as was showing 36.11 which is what boardgameprices was showing as well.
They do change prices on a whim so great spot. Can use HAIRYGAMELORD5 at Zatu for 5% as well

Edit: theyve expired that code now. Think they had forgotten about it to be honest

Did not know this. Thanks for the heads up (I've never ordered from either). Good price in that case.

I do still think this is floating above market price due to Christmas/legacy though...

Yeah Zatu keep changing their prices quite regularly. If I'm not in a rush for stuff I keep my basket open for a few days and refresh every now and then until it drops. I think they might be changing prices based on GBP-USD exchange rates.
Is this just a reprint of the original, a redesign, or a whole new game?

I'm sure you would have no issues ordering from them. Its just the HUKD rules for posting as there is a slight risk

Ahh never thought of that as they are always odd numbers. You are probably right.

Not a whole new game. Think it's a slight redesign but plays very much like the 70s version updated to modern rules slightly. Not played it yet, it's on the agenda for January.

this is a pretty good review of the re-release, about 20 minutes in is when he starts to talk about the differences of the re-release

FX probably plays a part, but I suspect the main reason is because the boardgame market and supply chain is so fluid now they can adjust prices as demand changes. Sometimes the swings are pretty severe but even then would never be considered a genuine manual misprice. Lots of bargains to be had if you're patient (which tbh the backlog of an addict usually forces :D)

There was a 2019 UKGE code for Zatu as well, I think it was 5% off and valid til the end of the year. A google search might throw it up.

I've heard the rules are rather in-depth...

I've tried watching a few playthroughs. Going to need a copy of the rules to hand pretty much constantly. Looks very good but so much to think about.
