Bonded leather is another way of saying replace in 12 months
Posted for who want to have a cheaper or lesser used sofa in their conservatory or elsewhere. What else are we waiting for, to get full grain leather double recliner 3 seater sofa for less than 400? Else wait for 14-18 weeks or even more due to the unfortunate virus problems at far east and get the item for over 1.2-3K

What's the 10 years warranty for then
the guarantee covers the frame not the bonded leather which will come apart well before that.

How much is a geniune power recliner leather 3 seater sofa then. I really need a 3 seater sofa and can't be bothered to wait for sales, if I get two of these for £750.00 is it worth buying.

Is there any delivery codes or vouchers to take the price down and what's the dunelm customer service like, if there is a fault with the bonded leather would they exchange or refund within 28 days as stated on their website.

Having checked the reviews it looks good and if this sofa lasts me few years then I'm happy. Does dunelm covers the fault on the back and side of the sofa or just the frame

I got 2 bonded leather sofas from argos about 5 years ago. They still look like new I thought they would not last. They were just a temporary thing till I found something I really liked.
Having once bought bonded leather dining chairs my advice would be to avoid anything made of bonded leather. Its just cheap tat marketed at a cheap price.

Our bonded leather sofa is around 6 years old and was not cheap. It was fine until around November last year. It's now peeling like crazy and looks awful. Really gutted as not in a market right now for a new one. Didn't expect that to happen...
I’ve had this exact sofa for around 8 years now. 3 seater & 2 seater. Wasn’t expecting it to last long with our fat asses kids & a dog but it still looks great. Only problem is when the foot rests start to lose their supportiveness but that’s probably an issue with most recliners.
Bonded leather... never again.

After 12 months it's like the surface of Mars

Depends how long you spend on the sofa...
I think it's pretty important to keep bonded leather out of direct sunlight as that can rapidly speed up the decay of the material.
DO NOT BUY! I have literally just had to dispose of these exact same sofas. The bonded leather is not leather in any shape or form and they will peel off, which is what happened to me after 4 years of having them. They weren't in sunlight at all and were well taken care of. Dunelm were not helpful at all so I've just had to buy new sofas which I am very upset about. Please don't buy these sofas.

You wouldn't want to be hit with a 12mm sheet of it though
I wouldn't buy that even if it was 80% off in the DFS new year's sale

I think it's a thin leather veneer glued to plastic underlay er.

Should have read some hukd threads. 6 years is a good innings Tbf.

Ain't nothing but a peanut.
So which leather is the most long lasting and won't peel then peeps?
always leather, never fabric

Mmm avoid avoid, thanks guys ! I will look elsewhere
Is faux leather and bonded the same thing ?
I purchased a 3+2 seater from very suspiciously similar to this 2 years back and its still good as new with my Autistic daughter jumping all over it, getting food all over it etc.. every day meaning we have to scrub it regularly and its been great no damage.
However i would advise against it as the seating position is like an airplane seat and has very shallow seat, not comfy at all unless you recline

If a £380 sofa lasts you 4 years you should be happy, dfs charge you £2000 and you replace in under 10 years
Where would anyone recommend the best place to buy a good quality sofa? Stockers?? I’ve had one from Next and M&S and Laura Ashley all been good!

I posted a real leather one on here before but they only have 2 Seaters and 1 colour of that interests you?
Bonded leather = fake leather. Must likely polyurethane. It is not leather at all.

The companies get away with the leather description by adding ground leather to the backing of the plastic so it is very difficult to tell it is not leather. This is why the material rots and falls apart and why you are advised not to leave it in direct sunlight. What you actually see and sit on is plastic.
