Some sheer nostalgia here at pretty decent prices again on GOG.

Description
Being the Dungeon Keeper and all, this is your home, too. And it’s your business to take these loathsome creatures of darkness and hone them into screaming, frothing, clawing forces of destruction. You lure them in with food and the promise of dank and fetid places to sleep. You keep them in line with the back of your hand and the threat of dire consequences. You pit their scaly hides against the best that the Forces of Good can muster, and they die for you as they rip steaming entrails out of the hapless heroes.

Dungeon Keeper 2

Description
It feels good to be bad, but it feels even better to be the embodiment of evil! Discover your evil side as you build your own underground kingdom. Carve out a living, breathing world and attract a host of devilish creatures to swell the ranks of your dark hoards. Form an alliance with the Horned Reaper and expand your empire in your quest to reach the daylight and invade the realms above.

Hope it helps someone.

This game was so good
Also worth checking your Origin account as the first game was given away free a few years back. You may have redeemed and forgot. Don’t think they play too well on modern hardware though unfortunately.
Dungeon keeper 3 is really good too and worth a buy, many don't even know it exists.
Your creatures are becoming angry!
Does this run fine under windows 10, the site has a brief disclaimer suggesting may be issues...
How does it run on modern GPU's?

Without wanting to sound like an escapee from a Pantomime, Oh no it doesn't.

DK3 was cancelled part way through production and so sadly never saw the light of day.

DK2 was a great game in its day, sadly though that day has passed along with the hardware that it is happy to run on. I tried it a few years ago and it was an exercise in frustration. IIRC you can get it to play "sort of" but there is a level that just crashes everytime you go into it.

Sad really, I had a lot of fun playing this way back when "Not as much fun as a certain chap called John though, if you are still out there John hope you have got over your Mistress fetish and if you are not then RIP you earned it".

There is a game called War for the Overworld which is basically Dungeon Keeper and is usually considered the spiritual successor and is pretty good. They run deals on it regularly IIRC too, think the full game plus DLC was around £8 when I bought it
Was playing the original just the other day, cannot find my discs for DK2, great games ..........Having a full sized Horned Reaper was not a well thought out plan, it stays in my conservatory at the moment

I thought most old games had been reworked to play on modern hardware? "Good Old Games"?

Or can you not just run it on some kind of emulator/VM?

Immensely confused.

These state they will work on Win 7,8 & 10
Don't think they get reworked at all, you just run them in dosbox or similar.
