I was going to buy, but this review on boardgamegeek reckons the recommended age range is wrong, and it should be younger.
48926659-97rVG.jpgHad a look at the Amazon reviews and all ages are enjoying it - went with it anyway. My niece is 13. (edited)
I bought this for my son. Younger people can play it but it depends on how dramatic you want to be in storytelling. My son hates blood and guts as he is autistic and has a strong reaction even when storytelling. However my nephew who is younger loved slicing imaginary beasts and describing how the attack did so much damage.

Cheers jsut got this as a stocking filler as my son has started to enjoy card based games these days.
The card game Dungeon Mayhem and its expansions are great fun. They are similarly child-orientated games set in the D&D universe.

Simple to learn, with just the right amount of strategy involved. I would definitely recommend. (edited)

Last time this was on sale from the same seller it was £15. This is a bargain at its maximum.

I’ve yet to play it, but understand that the lack of distinctive moves for the four characters is a drawback. There isn’t much roleplaying when each character essentially plays and performs the same way.

After playing Dungeon Mayhem, with its varied characters, this design choice does seem like a somewhat of a wasted opportunity.
Yeah, we have this. Kids played it a few times through but it is very limited in what can be done. It's like They've put lots of work into coming up interesting charaters and scenarios but none of it actually matters in the game. Choose from lots of different characters with differeing attacks but the attacks are different in name only and pretty much all work in exactly the same way and do the same damage. Battle four different end of game bosses but they all have the same hitpoints and do the same damage. Come up with an interesting way of solving this problem but then ignore that and roll a dice to determine what actually happens. Just feels like it could have been so much better if they'd spent a little more time on the game itself and putting some variety in there. This is a crazy cheap price though and could be a good fit for younger kids.

We also have Dungeon Mayhem and that's been replayed a lot more. Very different but feels like they spent a lot more time on the mechanics and actually making it a good game.

Thanks this has been on my to buy list. Finally bit the bullet at this price. Me and my wife have the cliche Christmas tradition of playing board games so this should be good.

We play a lot of normal DnD but a few figures, a few dice, some potentially useful cards and stands? Go on then, I'll bite for £7.50. Heat added.
