I liked an old game called record of lodoss war....,...will these appeal?

Was meant to vote this hot but the browser lagged oO

Record of Lodoss War on the Dreamcast was epic.

Very "Diablo".

You'd get on with Baldurs Gate. Bit slower (as you have a party instead of just you)

So you pause - then allocate everyone's attacks then unpause

PS Temple of Elemental Evil is a good game too. I only stopped playing (PC) as I some how deleted my save file

Record of Lodoss War ...

My BEST after Fallout 1 & 2

beautifully crafted, written and directed games. Absolute masterpieces, they really dont make them like that any more.

a must play for anyone who appreciates gaming.

Don't expect amazing Skyrim graphics with these. On the other hand, do expect hundreds (yes, I mean hundreds) of hours of plot and questing. Even now when a new blockbuster RPG comes out, they get compared to Baldur's Gate. So far, nothing else has beaten it.

I picked this up last night.

Does anyone still have instructions (and files) on how to create the "mega mod" that links the two games together, patches loads of bugs, removes level cap and adds a shed-load of new content?

Excellent deal, but I grabbed all the DnD games the last time GoG.com had a sale on them. Can't recommend the Baldur's Gate series enough. Grab them now. Heat added.

So no need to purchase the Icewind Dale ones?, aren't they supposed to be good too?

I loved playing RPG back in the day, never had to chance for these ones though.

I remember getting Baldurs Gate not long afer it was released, at the tender age of 15.

*LOVED* it. Probably the best storyline for a game ever written, and probably the best RPG ever made. At least the best I ever played.

I just got the whole lot, let the nostalgia begin!

They're ok, but lacking a lot in plot and characters compared to the BG games. They're more dungeon crawly which is ok if you like that, but you don't have a backstory for your party and stuff like that (you select them as you set up the game). Same with Temple of elemental evil if I remember ok.

If you are an RPG conisseur, get the BG games, get past the old graphics and the complicated AD&D mechanics, and you'll unearth a proper gem.

Never played any of these games before, and not sure whether to get Baldurs Gate with BG2, Neverwinter Nights or Planescape. Any suggestions? I don't want to get more than 2 as I don't want to spend too much money on games I might not even like.
