Aha, I've bought this before. I remember now. I just can't remember where.

This is about what I paid for it too, about 2 years ago.

Anyway, this is probably the best deal you'll get all year. There's more gameplay here than any bundle and the games are all fanflippintastic. I know people worship Baldurs Gate and I do too but I have a special cushion just for Icewind Dale.

Fantastic value you for money, I just wish it was tied to GOG or Steam. I know 100% that I'd forget about this entirely if I bought it now whereas on Steam I'd be able to see it in a few years from now.

That's exactly what happened to me. I bought this and now I have no idea where it is. I'd buy it again but I really want it all in Steam and I'd like everything patched properly to run at high resolution. With Baldurs gate I guess that means getting the new remakes when they finally decide to settle down in price. I think Baldurs Gate II right now is £19 on Steam. Ufff.

It'll be cheaper on the XMAS sale I'm sure, however I'm looking for Planescape more than BG.

Torment is a masterpiece, and well worth this price alone if you have even a passing interest in cRPGs and/or floating talking skulls.

Always preferred Icewind Dale over Baldur's Gate, too.

Morte: I'd just like to interject here and point out that I'm not going to say anything to spoil the mood, chief. I'll just float here and watch. Don't mind me, just sitting here, floating and watching, that's me.

“The dungeon of Mabusdahegro! The dungeon of Mabusdahegro! The dungeon of Mabusdahegro!”

I love me some Icewind Dale 2. Might have to grab this for old times sake, even though I'm sure I have a copy somewhere.

HEEEEAAAAT!

thankyou

Waiting for the special edition of Torment, these ones never seem to work well on Win7 and full hd res.

I was about to buy this collection the cheap price called to me. But then after logging in.. it seems I've already got this exact collection on my shelf..

Still hot. I guess.

Bought this around 6 months ago, at a similar price, excellent bundle.

For those of you thinking of purchasing or not due to Windows 7, there are mods and updates to nearly all of the games (available for free) to increase resolution and fix aspect ration for widescreen etc.

Planescape runs very well on my current machine with a single mod and a couple of tweaks to a .ini file (sorry I cant be more specific, I'm at work and Game sites are block, just do a quick google thats all I did)

Does not have the Capcom Arcade ones which I think are the best ones.

Awesome. Got Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 merged into one now with all the patches that fix the masses of problems the game had. It's very interesting that if you buy the enhanced version on Steam, both of them I mean, they won't have the same amount of fixes you can add yourself BUT if you use the enhanced version, you can no longer use any of the fixes the community have made for the games. So its all on the developers of the enhanced version for updates. Worth bearing in mind.

First thing, when the music fires up at the beginning with the drums and the demon choir, it really is a nostalgia rush. Also the graphics while massively dated actually look really good in high resolution. A bit like the recent Age of Empires HD, when you see more of it, it seems to be higher quality.

Anyway if anyone wants any tips on what to install and how I can point you in the right direction

The updates took me about ten minutes including downloading them all and configuring them. So it's hardly a huge task but its dreadfully basic how everything happens in a command window. I'd love to see a one click installer just do all this for me but I'll take what's given very happily

There seems to be a lot of work going on for the enhanced editions.

As usual my info is outdated haha

Still I'm pretty happy, got a lovely Steam Grid image shortcut that runs Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 plus all the expansions all in one game. If I get into that I'll be gone forever

Next comes the Icewind Dales. Not a clue about modding those yet.

You may have bought it from Gamestop like me when they had it on offer for a while around this price back then. Planescape Torment is my personal favourite so far though I haven't got around to playing Icewind Dale 1 and 2 yet but these are all great 'old school' RPGs. I applied the widescreen resolution mods and available patches (I think all the 'how to's are on Youtube) and they play and look a lot better.

You might be right, but I forgot the username and pass if that was the site. GOG do a great guide for their BG1 & 2 but it works equally well with Gamestops. I pasted the link earlier in the thread. I followed that and went from start to while not fully modded, modded enough. I don't really want to mess with mods that will change the game, new quests and characters. I kinda like it how it is. So that's me done. Now the games have been confined to one folder, its become portable. So I can just zip it up, back it up and run it from anywhere in the future. If only all games were like that. The thought of having to mod skyrim again on a new windows install, eeek!

Ordered this and just downloading now.
If anyone can tell me which mods I need for the better graphics, so that I don't have to trawl the forums above (lazy, I know); I would very much appreciate it. On here or PM is fine.

Thanks

Thanks.
Much appreciated. I'll do some Googling too.

Hi Guys, interested in these games for the PC.

I finished playing BG on ps2 and wanted to try them on PC (not very good with keyboard). I have heard they are better on PC.

Are these games on cd?

If not, what do I need to do to play them and keep them all working in future computer changes?

Any help please as this offer is much cheaper than buying on discs?

Also how do the mods/cheats work - are they easy to use?

Last similar type games I have played on the PC were the star war battlegrounds series - a few years ago (not the same, I know), but can I use the mouse to control the games movements?

Cheers guys

Any game is better on PC apart from sports games. It is the master race platform.

These are download and not on CD.

You just need a PC.

Link to mods, instructions and help:

Yes you will use the mouse

If anyone is having issues with graphics not refreshing, glitching and leaving shadows, etc. try disabling triple buffering for the game. I was able to do this via the NVidia Control Panel and it runs great with all the mods and fixes mentioned above.

thanks guys

how does gameplay differ from using a disc?

is its better and easier to play - any issues during gameplay?

There's no difference from using a disk. Instead of buying a DVD, it's a 10GB download that you then manually patch using the link above.

thanks guys

Just signing up now for a account..

Once I buy the game, can I download the game later and store games on my account?

I would like to put on my desktop and not my laptop which I am using now. Away from home.

But sale offers finish before I get home on Monday.

Is this the chepest its ever been or will they go cheaper in the xmas sale.

eyeing up this and the neverwinter nights complete to dl today as made some space on the machine

helpp guys

i am stuck with the mods - i have done up to no.9 i think well the fix nod all the way until the dos box finishes on exit.

I have got to No.10, but during the install the dos box did not ask me to go to the BG1 dir.(No. 8).

So I am unsure what now as I would like just one launch button for the game and play the game as a whole from BG1 to BG2.

Any help please - OH merry Christmas

I think I had the same issue and just skipped the extended parts.

Thanks F.

I got the main mod done, but once I got to this stage (no.10) what now?

is the game all in one now? which is the start button to start from BG1 straight through to the finish.

I hope that makes sense.

Yep the game is all in one now. You can actually delete the first games folder. Both games are now in Baldurs Gate II. When you start it up you get the option to start from the beginning or jump straight to the second part, which is the second game. It's really good how they've done it.

So just to recap, you just launch Baldurs Gate II now to play both

just typed a reply and its gone.

litte confused now there is a number of launch apps. which one its it on the 2 folder. once i find a opening screen what is the name of the first game or 2nd game. have they changed or arethey called BG1 and BG2?

In the Baldurs Gate II folder you run Baldur.exe to start the game and config.exe to set it up.

cheers mate. will give that a shot tomorrow and report back.

Going to have a good read of it before starting.
