no 2

The one's from Ikea are great, cheaper and last longer batteryshowdown.com/res…tml
The price is a bit higher than in this original test though

Cold, colder than ice.

Buying disposable (AA or AAA) batteries is incredibly simple - buy alkalines, the cheapest you can find. Duracell doesn't mean anything, it's ALKALINE you need to focus on, as they vary very little in capacity between brands (cheaper zinc batteries are not worth buying).

Poundland do six Kodak Xtralifes for £1, for example, so these Duracells are at least twice as expensive as those, and no better.

chav
tʃav/
noun BRITISH informal derogatory
a young lower-class person typified by brash and loutish behaviour and the wearing of (real or imitation) designer clothes.

Not sure it was anything to do with b&m

I thought that as well......but I was then told that is were most of them shop. Anyway the deal is a bit naff when you can save yourself the time & trouble of travelling to B&M and still get the same product for less including delivery off the net.

I tend to buy either x50 AA or x50 AAA Dduracell procell battered off eBay at around £11-12 delivered. Many reputable sellers offering this with long expiry dates.

Thanks for enlightening me as to the "chav" shopping culture and sorry you don't like the deal.

nice spot

Sorry, it's cold OP.

People buying these don't understand the differences between batteries. The Kodak alkaline ones are way better value, if you buy these Duracells for that price you're getting ripped off basically.

you want the ikea alkaline batteries, or nothing

You guys are nuts! Why pay 30p each. Just get procells (now Duracell industrial) cheapest is about 21p each. This is not a HOT deal. COLD

The Procell batteries may be made by Duracell but they don't last anywhere near as long as their regular high performance batteries.

Adults who brand other people on what/where they buy their things. Get over yourself.

Procell or "Industrial" I was led to believe are exactly the same as the retail version Duracell.
I've been using them for a while and not noticed any difference from the standard retail Duracell

MADNESS!

Why do people vote hot on Duracell posts? How many times do we have to post the battery test results that show IKEA and Poundland Kodak are just as good?

Surely this deal is better? Same number of Alkaline battery + lots more, but for the same price. I am confused why this got low heat when we are agreed there is not much difference between alkalines

Procell/Duracell Industrial are the same as normal Duracell. Just re-branded to try and prevent theft or re-sale. Come in cheaper packaging too.

I'm not so sure the Procell ones are exactly the same, they definitely do not seem to last as long for me, they mostly get used in -box controllers in my house. This is not to say they are a bad deal though, they do the job perfectly well for a good price.

Still too expensive. Who cares who makes them? You can get far cheaper alkalines than that.

I don't care who makes them either. I'm just pointing out that they are made by the SAME company.

There ARE differences between alkaline brands. batteryshowdown.com/sta…png IME Kodak don't last very long. They may be cheaper but poor value.

The 'Battery Showdown' website that people keep pushing is all well and good for seeing a comparison for raw power but where is the comparison for reliability (leakage), discharge during storage and damage compensation limit (leakage again). I have spent thousands on some of my electrical equipment and would not risk putting a cheap Ikea or Kodak battery anywhere near them for the lack of guarantee they offer.

Are you joking?

All alkalines pretty much discharge at the same rate, and I know the Kodak alkaline batteries don't leak. I've used them for years.

The ones people talk about which leak are the Kodak zinc ones.
